That's most likely a freeze plug that needs to be replaced by a new one.

SOURCE: When I hook of the

Hello Ifox5858,

I understand that when you hook up the hose to the back of your washing machine that the water comes out of the hose. The problem that you are having may be because of washers are missing out of the hose ends. You need to take the hoses off and look and see if you have rubber washers in the side that is leaking. The washers are standard water hose washers you can buy at any hardware store.

1. Place washer in hose
2. Install hose hand tight
3. Turn a quarter turn with wrench
4. Turn water on check for leaks if leaking slowly turn tighter to leak stops

This should fix your problem.

Thank you for choosing FIxya.com

Mercury 150hp Optimax outboard

many mercury motors use a rubber mounted prop on the shaft which is a sacrificial idea to prevent gear box damage and prop damage in with under water objects
what you suggests indicates that at certain load situations that rubber has failed and allowing the shaft to turn but is not driving the prop as required
It is driving just enough to give you steerage to get home

Water leaks (spewing) from sides of bottom of machine when it's filling up

The normal cause of leaking while it is filling is a leaking Inlet hose. Try pulling the washing machine away from the wall and watch the hoses as the machine fills. If it is leaking you can see which hose is leaking. You may either need new tighner clips or to replace the hoses depending on how bad they are leaking. Another possibility is the water pump inside the washing machine could be broken and spewing out water.

How do I tell if thermostat is stuck or watertpump bad

Dear Connie,
This depends on the year, make, and model of your vehicle.
Some engines are installed longways to the car, some crossways. That matters.
A stuck thermostat will not leak water.
(It can, however, cause water to leak , sometimes violently!)
Thermostats are inside metal housings.
Water pumps can leak water, out the "weep" hose in the casting. Water spewing out of the engine could also be a cracked or burst radiator hose or heater hose.
On a few cars, mostly older ones, it can also be a leaking or burst "freeze plug", also called a "sand plug".
God bless your efforts.

Our washing machine sat outside during a hard freeze (4 days without ever getting above 27). We had the water lines disconnected/dripping to avoid busted pipes, but we didn't realize there was a spot for...

your water valves, you have 2. may have a crack due to the freezing. they retain water inside. you have to take appart or lift the top of the washer to inspect the water valves. the main valve is the one you connect the fill hoses. the other is the one on the dispenser.

Water is not draining after wash. What might be the cause?

  1. Check for hose kinks or food plugging drain hose. Start at the drain port exit ( there are others, this is just an example )
  2. Check the check valve and drain hose for debris.
  3. Check pump motor for reversing during the pump out make sure the dishwasher is pausing between the wash and drain cycles letting the pump/motor reverse for the drain cycle.
  4. Check timer for not letting the dishwasher pause. ( not all dishwashers )
  5. Check pump motor assembly for a drain solenoid, during the pump out make sure the solenoid makes that distinctive "clunk" noise
  6. If you have recently installed a new garbage disposal, check knock-out plug at connection.
  7. Check pump impeller for damage.
  8. Check that the water inlet valve isn't seeping fresh water into the dishwasher when off.
