Question about Whirlpool Ovens

Help! The top oven of my whirlpool double oven Model GBD307PRB01 is acting odd. The top oven (the convection) locks up into self-clean when I am cooking, burns everything and the temp surges.

My Whirlpool double oven/Convection oven Model# GBD307PRB01 has been acting up. The top oven will have something baking in it at a preset temp and all of a sudden the temperature will surge up and the oven will lock up as if it's in self-clean mode. The only way I can shut it off is to hit the breaker. It appears there is a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool for this feature, but that was in 2016 and I see no recalls. Right now, I'm limited to just using my lower oven. (non self-cleaning and non-convection) What would I need to fix this?

SOURCE: f9 error code while using the convection baking function

This is a lock switch error code. Check wiring to door lock switch (the wire harness may be connected wrong). Check for stuck lock switch. If the switch cannot be re adjusted, it must be replaced.

Double oven no model number Whirlpool 14 years old Door is locked after self clean and display is blank

Hello,

Your oven has resetable high limit thermostat that tripped off on the self clean cycle,im not sure if you have free standing,or a wall oven if freestanding the t-stat is on back panel if wall oven its behind control panel on upper oven and for lower oven its behind the grill between bottom of upper oven and top of lower oven. In either case it has a small red button that can be pushed in to reset it

Hope this helps and if it does please give me 4 thumbs up

Dead Whirlpool Double Oven

This happened to us the first time we used the self-cleaning feature. The repairman said we had to replace the whole electronic panel -- but when he put in the new panel it didn't work either. It turned out he just needed to replace the oven shutdown thermal fuse I believe. We finally got up enough courage to try the self-cleaning again and the exact thing happened. The door is locked and the electronic panel is dead again. So when we get it fixed we will never use the self-clean again.
