I have the same problem, but on removing the locking mechanism there was a small brown mark on the back of the plastic, when I took the cover off the two metal strips were blackened.

If I replace the locking mechanism will this cure the problem or is there somthing more serious that will cause it to happen again?

Door clicks closed. Start the machine and clicks 2 or 3 times and then E40 error comes up. Door error. Can I rectify this myself?

I cant get child lock off zanussi 6kg 1200 and cant find the manual please help

Zanussi has several washer models with 6 KG capacity 1200 RPM spin speed specifications. You need the model number to find the manual here: http://www.zanussi.co.uk/support/manuals/ . The model number for a front load washer is inside the door on the lower right of the opening.

For the ZWG7120P, you need to press and hold both the Temperature and the Spin buttons for 6 seconds to toggle the lock on or off. (This time is approximate.) These are the two buttons closest to the program selector dial. There is a small padlock icon in a curved line below and between the buttons. The direct link to the manual for this model in English is http://www.electrolux-ui.com//DocumentDownLoad.aspx?DocURL=2010\132\948930EN.pdf .

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with your washer model if the above child lock directions do not work on your machine.

How to reset zanussi jetsystem programme function board with error E40

E40 is a door lock fault code, you need to replace the door lock,
you cannot reset the fault code, this happens automatically when the fault is rectified. nice easy job though.

Zanussi Turbodry jetsystem 1200

hiya
e90 means there is a communication error between the circuit boards inside. remove the plug then take the lid off the machine, remove the block which has the 5 (iirc) blue wires in it and give it a quick squeeze then replace, this should hopefully solve your problem.

hope this helps
