SOURCE: audio doesnt come thru my hdmi cable from the dvd

Hi there
Check your DVD players' settings/manual to ensure the HDMI port is the default output port. Also confirm that both audio and video are enabled on that HDMI channel as it can be separated to be only video or only audio in a lot of cases.
Confirm you are at least getting video out from the DVD with a direct connection to your projector with the HDMI cable.
If video is making it to the projector direct from the DVD, you will need to confirm your amp is monitoring the HDMI input if there isn't a specific input selection for it. Connect your DVD to the amp and your amp to the projector and test again that you are still getting video AT LEAST. This will help narrow down which device is not playing the HDMI game if you still have issues at this point.
To sum up;
Confirm HDMI is the default output from the DVD for both audio and video.
Ensure you are getting video AT LEAST with a direct test to projector.
Confirm your amp is monitoring the HDMI input coming from the DVD.
Hope this helps.

Check your RCA cables to make sure that they are not dirty, tarnished or not completely plugged in. Also, try switching to different (working!) RCA cables to see if that fixes the noise problem. Good luck!

RCA tv snowy sound great picture on cable

If sound is ok with a DVD etc connected via a rear input (connect directly to set and not thru a receiver etc) the problem is not the set.

If using a box unplug it and or a receiver for a while and plug back to see if a reboot will allow the issue to be fixed that way.

I want to play normal tv sound thru the surround sound, but do not know what cables to use? i have an LG 460 tv, and a sanyo dc-ht818, it doesnt seem to have TOSLINK or HDMI inputs, so what can i use?

The Sanyo has stereo analog LINE INPUT jacks. Run two RCA audio cables from the TV to these jacks and select this LINE INPUT FUNCTION on the Sanyo. If the TV has no analog audio output jacks you can even use the headphone output by using a 3.5mm adapter to RCA audio connectors.

We used rca cables to hook up the ps3 to tv and its not showing on any channels

Are you flipping thru the channels on the remote like you would for tv?
Usually what you have to do is look for a button that source or imput on your tv or controller for the Tv. that will cycle thru available imputs like HDMI 1, Cable, Component 1, RCA etc. until you find it. make sure the PS3 is on as well.
If this doesnt solve it you may have a faulty cable, you may want to try a new one if you have and see if that solves the problem, or use the same RCA cable to hook up a dvd player or other device, if it doesnt work on that device you know the problem.
Hope this helps

"snow sound" on rca tv, perfect picture

Although your picture is perfect, I would think the fine tuning is slightly off. This can also be to do with the cable box frequency setting. Call out the cable people & get them to check the box & the setting up to the TV.

Red light stays on no sound. rca cable grnd, must be connected?

What do you mean the RCA cables are'nt grounded? All RCA cable have a ground. What kind are you using? The round metal at the end of the RCA cable is the ground. The silver or outside of the line input on the amp is the ground for the RCA cables. Anyway, that would'nt stop your amp from coming on. I suggest you take a piece of wire and ground it to the amp and touch the metal piece on the RCA cable and see if you get sound. Even if the RCA cable is'nt grounded you would get some type of sound coming out of the amp maybe. If you do it will sound like it's cominf thru a long tunnel, like a reverb effect. I have never heard of an RCA cable not having a ground. ARE you sure you have RCA cables? Let me know and send me a pic if you can of the input of the amp so I can see how you have it hooked up.
