Tv freezes, goes black, starts again

My 48" tv runs for a few seconds, freezes for a few seconds, and goes black for a few seconds than starts the procedure again. Has anyone had this problem and how can it be fixed? The tv is a year and half old.

I had a similar problem, mine was a bad earth connection on the main (tv input) board. it earths through the screw mountings so check they are screwed in nice and tight, probably best to remove and then refit it.

Why does screen go black after a few seconds

Hope this helps.... Your monitor has an inverter issue. You know it's an inverter problem when:
1. Your monitor starts normally and displays the startup/desktop screen for a while.
2. Then it suddenly goes off, leaving a blank (black) screen or a very dim display.

It sounds like it may be burn in. Try turning off the television for 48 hours.

Lamp in TV got weak and TV needs new lamp.
Lamp replacement procedure is written in instruction manual and buy should buy Sony original lamp from Sony Accessories Store for your Sony TV.

check your capacitors cp150 114 120 if any of them is puffed up on top it is bad replace all 3 cap. 2200uf 1`6v and two 220uf 35v. also resolder FBT pinns.
