I have a Weller 8200 100/140W soldering gun. All I wish to know is what is the replacement light bulb?
The bulb's part number is 7333. You can order a replacement bulb here for about $2.50 :http://www.e-sonic.com/aboutus/cat/S/soldering%206.pdf
Testimonial: "Thank you. Bulb voltage is actually whay I was looking for but I did not specifically ask for this.:-) Perhaps a 7333 bulb is a universal #."
That number is Cooper Tools/Weller's number. I am not sure if it is universal or not but it is available at Cooper Tools/Weller's website: http://www.cooperhandtools.com/search/se...
There are no specs listed and I can't find anything like this bulb on Newark or Mouser, I am pretty sure this bulb is strictly proprietary and not available anywhere else.
I searched though my spare bulb collection and came across a 2.25 Volt bulb that is ideal. You want to use one that has the lens built into the end of the bulb so the light acts like a spotlight and not a floodlight. This is the bulb I use, can be found for less than a dollar. Some of the Weller 8200's have what's called a wedge base lamp. These are commonly automotive low voltage bulbs (12-14v) and come in different wattages. The higher the wattage, the brighter the bulb. At autozone you can find several in the Sylvania Brand. Replacement for my 8200 is a sylvania 161 LL, 14v 2.7w. Roughly $6 for two bulbs. Works great.
