I have a 19 sylvania tv that I want to connet toToshiba DVD playe

I have a 19" sylvania personal tv Model SST4191 and I want to attach a toshiba SD-4100KU DVD player to it. Please advise me how to connect the two.

If the TV doesn't have AV input jacks, you'll need an RF converter so you can watch the DVD player on channel 3 or 4. You can find them at Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, Home Depot and most places that sell TVs for around $15. Connect the audio and video from the DVD player to the inputs on the converter, and the converter's output to the TV antenna jack. Set the TV to whichever channel the converter is set for (3 or 4, with a switch on the converter so you can choose) and you'll be in business.

I have the Sylvania TV model#SST4191. I can not get an universal remote to program with it. Isn't there a sensor on the TV somewhere to read the code?

I dont know this model or how old it is. If it is an older set a universal magnavox or philips remote will work. You should find an older model remote in this case. If it is a newer tv you may use a newer magnavox or philips universal remote. If this is a flat screen, you will have to contact the manufacturer. You will be pleased to know now, that you are on the correct path.

My Sylvania tv/vcr is model SRC2419 and remote is model NE138UD. My original remote suddenly died and I assumed that the batteries needed replaced. I replaced batteries, and still remote would NOT work....

1st one is 29.95 and the other is 44.95

when you say nothing do you mean the tv wont come on? If the tv is on can you see the words (input, volume bar, menus, etc.) do you hear audio? does the player work on another tv, since you have a sylvania tv, are you using the game button on the top of the remote to switch to the jacks on the front?
