Bought a dvd series of Ice Road Truckers series 2 off E-Bay. All my dvd players wont play. One says incorrect regional code. How can I get them to play.

DVD players designed for the US are set for Region 1 and cannot be used with DVD's that are from other regions such as Great Britain and most of Europe which use Region 2 DVD's . What you need is a "Region Free" player which plays all regions or a player that plays your specific region. We live in the US but watch many British DVD series so use.a Region Free player as they are Region 2 and we are in Region 1.

maybe you can return the player or at least get some sort of credit for it towards the correct region player. If you are unsure of your region, just Google it.

Those DVD s are specified for a different region. Unfortunately if your DVD player isn't "Region Free" they wont play.

To change the Region code on your player, open Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device manager, and click on DVD/CD ROM drives, then right click on the DVD drive and click Properties then click on DVD Region.
You can enter a new region and it also shows you how many changes have been made.
NOTE you can make only 4 changes and the player will lock permanently on the 4th change.
If you want to play DVD from any region you maybe able to upgrade the firmware to make it region free BUT if you make a mistake or installed the wrong firmware the player will be a piece of junk.
The best solution to make the player region free is to install a piece of software that allows you to play DVDs from any region. There are several available on the Internet but my favourite is DVD-Region Free

All DVD hardware and software is coded using one of six numbers ( DVDs Regions 0 , 7 and 8 are special cases - see below ). The U.S. and Canada use Region 1. Region 2 discs are used in the U.K. , Europe and Japan . While Australia and the Caribbean use Region 4. These codes determine where the discs can be played.

Your console must match the discs region code.
This is not the case so you wont be able to play with this game.

With remote control and player stopped,
press setup, vol+, vol-, vol+, vol-
Use arrow keys to select region 1-6 or 255 for all region.
Numbers appear on TV screen.
Press setup again to save and exit

Try this to make it multiregion. It should work.

You might not have the multi-region version of this dvd player, they do make them, but cost more. You might have the regular version. Someone posted the instructions on Amazon to make it region free.

To make it region code free follow these instruction:
1. Turn on the unit
2. Open the loading tray
3. Press the "Setup" button on the remote
4. Navigate to the "Preferences" page using the right arrow key
6. Press the down arrow once to enter the Preference page
5. Enter 138931 on the remote
6. You will now see the current region code displayed
7. Use the Up/Down arrow keys to select the region required or "0" for all regions
8. Press the "Play" button on the remote

I bought a panasonic portable dvd player for the kids for christmas, unfortunately it displays wont play in the region. I do not have a code for it nor a remote control. The model is LS850. Can you help.?

if you use a PAL broadcast system where you live ..Use the menu on dvd to set it to PAL system..If you use NTSC change it to NTSC .

This is for DVP31XXX series i hope it works all on DVP31 series. It has been tested on DVP3146K /51 and it has been worked...


1. Make sure there is no disc in the player.
2. Turn power off and on again.
3. Open the tray.
4. On the remote, hit 9879 and then 0. This changes unit to Region 0, meaning it'll play all regions.
5. Hit OK on the remote.
