Go to settings and either change the depth using the icon DownScreen/Down Imaging and turn off. Or go to com and follow Doctor Sonar on Facebook and read the tutorial articles on understanding sonar. Or google doctorsonar.com

SOURCE: How do you get the fish to show up on the screen

Are you looking for the little fish symbols?
Press MENU, down arrow to SONAR FEATURES and press ENT. Arrow to FISH SYMBOLS and press ENT. Press EXIT twice. Any significant return in the water will now show up as a fish symbol.

Are you looking for the fish arches?
You won't get any arches unless the boat is moving and of course there are fish passing within the transducers signal. The shallower the water, the less area you are covering and less likely to get a fish return.

There is an OK guide to understanding what you see on the sonar screen at the link below. It if pretty technical but parts of it may help you out.

SOURCE: I have a Eagle cuda

Hi,

First check the Battery status of your Fish finder, replace the battery. Check the transducer and suction-cap. Master reset after replacing of battery may need for your fish finder. It can solve your problem.

SOURCE: When we are deep water

Im not familiar with your particular unit but you should be using a low frequency transducer for water over 500'; something like a 50 kHz transducer or a dual frequency transducer like a 50/200kHz for detail with the high freq. but increased depth range on the lower frequency. As far as setting it to 250 ft, you should be able to use the range feature and adjust the maximum to 250'. typically the factory default is automatic so it will caonstantly adjust the range based on the maximum current depth.

SOURCE: I just bought a used

Check to make sure the transducer is hooked up correctly, and check the actual transducer for signs of damage. Transducers are fragile, and a good whack can break the crystal inside. For more troubleshooting, here is a helpful link with the Owners Manual for your Humminbird.

What does exp.sim mean?

In Live View mode, evaluative metering is always used to determine correct exposure, though exposure compensation is available. The Exposure Simulation function will attempt to recreate the exposure level that would be obtained with your current settings on the LCD display. This may raise noise levels of the live view feed beyond what could be expected in the final image, since it must operate with a fast enough shutter speed to achieve its required refresh rate. The aperture also remains open by default, and so the exposure simulation doesn't indicate the areas in focus unless you configure the Set button to provide depth-of-field preview, and then hold it down during live view. Exposure Simulation will attempt to continue even with depth of field preview active, though this may raise the live view noise levels even further. If you pass outside the range where the live view feed can simulate your exposure, the "Exp. Sim" icon near the bottom right of the LCD will blink, as a warning.

Gps-simulator

The GPS Simulator mode is a mode where the unit will not look for satellites. instead, it will show simulated satellite receive signals on the satellite reception screen and allow you to simulate driving to the destination that you programmed into it. You will be able to see each turn just as if you were really driving on the road.

The GPS component of my Lowrance Elite-5 Gold is malfunctioning about 50% of the time.

Hey Les, Since you have replace both the unit and transducer, you have eliminated/diagnosed most of your problem.. Its in the wiring... sometime when I am in full GPS mode I get erroneous depth readings..?? Have you tried a different GPS module (the "puck")?

Can not get off simulate

Assuming you're talking about a Depth Finder or a GPS... if it's depth finder, I had a similar problem on a Humminbird Depth Finder... the issue was holding down the power button too long. If you push it long enough for the system to light up and let go, it should solve the problem. Holding it down longer takes it into Simulation. Hope that helps.

Eagle Cuda 128 does not read water depth

Hi Chris, Did you get a fix for this issue? My Dad's Eagle Cuda 128 is also having the same problem - constant reading of 60ft. I'd love to hear if you have a solution. Many thanks,
