SOURCE: My GPS started smoking and quit working. After 2

If there's smoke, there's electrical problems. Chances are it's gone.

SOURCE: heater only works a few

These may be due to a few thing but first you will need to test when blower is out, using a testlight check blower plug for power and ground, if theres power and a good ground then you have a bad motor if theres no ground to blower then the resistor is bad, also make sure the plug to blower or resistor is not melted or brunt. good luck the most common problem is the blower or resistor.

Shuts down for no apparent reason

Have you figured out if you are loosing spark or fuel pressure when the engine quits ? Could be a relay, coil, fuel pump, or various other electrical components.

2004 gmc envoy heater intermites when using... only turns on once in a while on all settings, but seems to only work when it feels like it

I am kinda having the same problem not as bad as yours. They replaced my relay or what ever it is 2 times. When it got down to 9 degrees mine quit working again for 2 days. It started working again but took it back to dealer anyway. They had a new part they put in then they called us and told us the blower motor is burnt up and it is gonna cost us $300. We asked how it can be burnt up when it was working when we brought it in. They said I don't know but said it is. After talking to 3 people and no solution to this, we told them to put the old relay in cause we're not paying 300 for something that was working. So far still working but sure it will quit again. Will never buy another GMC produce.

NAVLINK NO GPS SIGNALand sometimes shows grey signal strength which means not strong enough to receive, help needed to fix this problem. tthanks

Happened to me recently,  showing grey signal bars but never locked (turn blue) so I was quite frustrated by it as I've only used the system a few times.  I have chased up a few suggestions from the web & the one I tried work.   Some suggested using Sirfdemo to reset the GPS receiver to NMEA mode as they could accidentally go into SIRF mode if the device is left active but has no view of the sky for an extended period (can easily happen if you left the unit in standby mode and placed the GPS in the glovebox).   The other solution is to remove the battery for anywhere from 24 hours to 7 days so that the SiRF chip capacitor will reset itself ...this is the solution I tried -  I left my unit without the battery for about 5 to 6 days and it came back to life again,  I've read some people left their GPS (albeit not Navlink) off for 4 days but still didn't work but retried again for 7 days and it worked.  Remember, once you place the battery back in I think the capacitor is charged up again so if it was not left off long enough you'll have to start counting from day 1 again.   All the best.  Jono

Gps module

I just went through this with Lowrance. tthe LGC 2000 module on my LCX 20 depth finder "quit responding" out of the clear blue. You have to go Lowrance.com and they have some tests you can follow to see if it is a bad cable or the module itself. I had to replace the module. They charged $99 bucks plus $12.50 shipping for a new one. I bought it spring of 2008, and the unit was 3 months out of warranty when it quit working. Last season I had lower back fusion and didn't use it except for 2 times late in the season. Getting ahold of Lowrance is going to be an experience. I called twice and waited on hold over 35 minutes before I was suddenly cut off both times. I tried email too, but it took 3-5 days to receive a response. Mine broke down June 18 of this year. I started trying to get hold of Lowrance the next day. By the time all the back and forth emails with the delayed responses were done, I received my new unit on July 24. 5 weeks! with out my gps in MN. It is a short season up here as it is. I sure didn't enjoy waiting that long.
