SOURCE: My Westinghouse LCM-19w4 Monitor will

I just repaired my LCM 19W4. My symptoms were a little different; the light was not on or blinking like yours. I replaced two bad capacitors today (220 uF 25V High Temp) So far so good. Bad caps can be easy to identify; they are slightly bulging at the top. Soldering can be very tricky though. But just like plodder said, make sure it's the monitor that's bad and not something else by hooking up a known working monitor first.

SOURCE: Can't remove cover of Westinghouse LCM-22w2 monitor

Hey Ed,

I hope I can help, It doesn't open from the back, it opens from the front.... carefully! There are four support screws, which hold the LCD screen to the desk stand, after removing all the support screws (4) on the back under the support stand cover.(which pull up to remove) (Remember! the whole case and face frame is plastic, so take your time). Work to separate the black face frame around the LCD from the silver case. Its held together by small plastic clips on the face frame to the wall on the LCD case. Start at one of the corners and slowly pry the face frame and silver case apart. (separate it inch by inch, work your way around the case carefully. If one corner doesn't give, go to another side.
Putting back together works reverse, the face frame and the case snap back together, Carefully! And replace screws (4).

Russell

P.S. I have three LCD models from Westinghouse, LCM-22w2, L2210NW and the L1916HW. They all open the same way.

SOURCE: Westinghouse LCM-19V7 powers on, but picture only stays for a sec

It's probably bad capacitors on the power supply board. These monitors are notorious for having the electrolytic capacitors blow out; cheap components! I would suggest replacing the two 1000 mfd capacitors and the three 220 mfd capacitors with 35 volt components from Radio Shack. That fixed one of my LCM-19V7s but not a second one which seems to have some other power supply problem.

I have a Westinghouse LCM 19v7 monitor that stays on for a few seconds and picture goes off. I know about the capasitor replacement but there is another conponent that I need to replace. It is the pow

Hello,

That is the correct value. That resistor just gets very hot and discolors the PC board around where it is soldered. You should be able to remove all of the old solder and scrape the resistor leg to get it bright, resolder the leg to the copper pad and you should be good to go.

My monitor Westinghouse Mod# LCM-19v5

Hello,

The most common thing that causes no power or a blinking power light and no picture is a failure of the power supply board. The board can be repaired and the monitor will be as good as new. To repair the board you just need to replace a few parts called capacitors. Here is a link to repair information on the Westinghouse LCM-19V5

Monitor Model LCM 19v7 was moved to a Compaq Presario computer and a message says out of range. What to do?

Your PC video resolution is too high for the monitor to display.
You need to set the PC video resolution to the native resolution of the monitor (which is 1280x1024 @60Hz).

No image on monitor model LCM- 19v7

Look for bad capacitors (bulging top/seal) in the power supply first, post back what you see inside so we can guide you further, see example of failed Westinghouse monitors due to bad caps; http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
