How do you set the date on the Pentax Optio E50? After charging batteries, I inadvertently pressed ok when date option came up and is now showing last year. I've don this a few times and can't figure out how to change the date before the batteries need charging again.

The pixels behind the numbers are permanently lost. You can edit the photos just like any other photos, but it would be an edit, not a restoration. It's just like removing an unwanted person or signpost from a picture.
The reset is on the settings menu, it does not have a reset button.
To get to the settings menu press the menu button then press the right button on the controller to get to the setting menu.
When you are on the setting menu you need to go down using the down arrow on the controller to the 3rd page were the reset option is. Press right to access the reset options then select Reset then ok.
Dear Texaslilly, Although there is nothing much to do but you can still try the following.
Try with different set of batteries
Remove the memory card from the camera
Cameras generally do have an option to plug-in external power supply..Try with external power supply .. if there is any.
Now this might sound little crazy but no harm in trying .... Remove batteries... Press and hold the power button for few seconds... release the power button ... reinsert the batteries and try to power on without memory card.

I have a sony cybershot DSC-S650, the LCD was very dark and could not
see anything except if I pointed it at a bright object, everything else
worked ok. I could take pictures but could barely see them in playback
as well.
I took it to Sony authorised repair outlet and was told
the CCD was damaged, they charged me USD $55 to repair it (in Quito,
Ecuador)
