There isn't an inbetween on sound. You either get nothing or you have something going wrong with your wiring some where. Have you tried hooking a speaker up directly to your cd player? Sounds like you have a speaker grounding out. Some times it's better to just open up your dash and unplug everything, (remove your fuse from the fuse box for your radio first). Start from scratch, if you have RCA's electrical tape them and any other metal components. That will create a grounding problem.

Input wires are the speaker wires from the Amp head/receiver (so you can go to a BestBuy and ask them for the speaker wire colors). Black is ground. Yellow/black is main power. Blue/white is turn on wire. If in doubt take off the door panels and look at what color wires go to the speakers.

SPEAKERS MANY HAVE ITS OWN AMP ON EACH ONE ,IF THATS THE CASE ONE OF THE SPEAKERS AMPS IS BAD , DISCONNECT THEM ONE AT AT TIME TILL NOISE IS GONE .

one of your speakers is blown and shorting out your deck. disconnect one sspeaker at a time and when it starts working fine you know that's the blown one.
