Question about Stihl Garden

My chainsaw stihl ms261c. After 20-30 min working, sometimes when I rapidly release the gas from full trottle to idle, it stops and I cannot start it anymore. Need to wait 1h or so then it starts.

Could be idle speed is set too low. If acceleration from low to high is sluggish increase idle air/fuel.

SOURCE: My Stihl chainsaw starts up but then it won't stay running

Jets in chainsaw may have build-up. A good build-up remover is called SeaFoam. Add this by direction to the gas. When using the SeaFoam you need to run full throttle with intermittently full choke until motor runs smooth with no choke.

Double check 2-cycle mixture. Too lean mixture in the chainsaw wont stay running.

One more thing to try hold her on her side and loosten the fuel cap a little. A plugged vent may also cause your problem. HTH

SOURCE: Im having problems starting an MS250 Stihl chainsaw. Can you give

Chances are good that the compression is not to blame. I would look at:
1. Bad Fuel
2. Fuel Line/filter
3. Carb dirty/mis adjusted
3. Spark Plug
4. Ignition

Stihl 290 chainsaw that will not idle after full throttle,i got carburetor machine cleaned by main dealer but still as if saw isnt getting fuel r out of tuning

First, is it really hard to start cold? second, will it idle after it is started? finally, have the dealer do a pressure and leak test of the engine to look for air leaks

Check your carburetor. You probably have a bad one and will need to replace it.

Husqvarna starts but cuts out if not on full throttle

There is a screw that allows you to set the Idling. Take the top off so you can see the carb. Without starting it play with the throttle trigger you will see a shaft move in the carb, the shaft will probably have some small attachments on it. Identify the screw that acts as an "end stop" when the throttle trigger is released. Once you have found the idle screw you can start the machine and turn the screw in slightly. Set it so that the machine idles but not too fast or the cutting chain will start running.

Stihl MS290 chainsaw won't stay running

check gas cap! maybe there is a weak spot in ''crank case gasket'' and when it gets real hot it opens up and loses vacuum.... that's highly unlikely, but I've seen worse.... sounds like you need your thinking cap for this 1! good luck
