SOURCE: ge xl44 oven not igniting but burners ignite

The most common failure for a nobake on this type of oven is the bake ignitor. turn unit on and look at the bottom of the oven, you should after about 30-45 seconds see an ORANGE glow, if you do not, chances are you have a failed ignitor.Remove lower part of oven and if you have a meter, place one lead on each terminal and check for continuity( a closed circuit)
If you have an "open" circuit, the ignitor is bad

SOURCE: My GE Profile gas oven will not ignite. The

The problem is usually the igniter not reaching the correct amp draw .When the igniter does not reach the correct amp draw it may allow the gas valve to partially open or not open at all. The igniters are inexpensive and easy to replace. There is a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html this will walk you thru the correct procedure for performing this test. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.

I had problem with the GE Profile Spectra JGBP90 Gas Kitchen Range try to turn the stoe on , clicking noice but no flame. smell lots of gas. how can I light the pilot light back, where is it?

This range doesn't have a pilot,it has an electronic igniter. If you are smelling gas while trying to light, your igniter is bad and needs to be replaced. Remove the racks from the oven. Remove bottom panel in the oven. Remove the metal plate that covers the flame spreader. The igniter will now be visible. Try turning on the oven again. Take note of how bright the igniter gets. If it stays a orangish color it needs to be replaced. It needs to get to an almost bright white,

Have a GE gas range. Broiler doesn't work while

First clean the terminals at the control and check for tight wires at the incoming terminal block. Check the neutral wire for a good conection. If the ignitor reads less than 3 amps it does not have enough resistance to open the gas valve. Turn the gas off. Put a clamp on amp meter on the broil ignitor wire. Turn the broiler on. If less than 3 amps.replace the ignitor.

Hi i have a kemore gas range that the bake ingiter or broil won`t

The igniter in the oven does not spark. It heats up and glows red hot until enough current opens the safety gas valve to the burner. It is not associated with the stovetop burners. Replace the oven igniter itself.

Oven won't broil

You probably have a bad broil ignitor. When you turn the oven onb to broil the ignitor on the top of the oven should glow bright orange. If it doesn't glow or glows a dull orange, it is probably bad.

Oven takes longer than expected to light

You probably have a bad gas valve, part # WB21T10014, unless the new igniter is defective. If your broil works, you can prove this by temporarily hooking the broil igniter in the bake spot. Hope this helps!

Oven wont light

Mine did that and I found the ignitor for the oven was bad. It was the "glow" type for pilotless ignition and it was burned out. It is supposed to glow bright red and the gas comes on and the oven will light. It was easy to tell that it was bad. But to check it I swapped the broiler ignitor with the oven ignitor and the oven worked.
