Before you run in there with a hammer, is there any way to simply turn off the buzzer alert? I have a different dryer, but I can disable the buzzer. Please check the operator's manual first. If you've gotten to the point of no return, you can disable the buzzer - carefully. Never leave any exposed wires dangling about.

SOURCE: Dryer buzzer is SO LOUD - How can I adjust volume/turn off?

Buzzer mounted to back of control panel.

**UNPLUG POWER BEFORE REMOVING CONTROL PANEL OR TOUCHING -ANYTHING-!**

Located on left side of control panel, bolted to back. Small rectangular device with two connections and no associated button or dial.

Remove the panel and disconnect one of the leads. Fold the connector back against its wire, carefully and securely tape the connector with electrical tape so it cannot touch anything. Also tape the connector on the buzzer that you removed the wire from.

Re-assemble the control panel.

As with anything mechanical, hours of frustration trying to take something apart can be avoided by taking a few minutes at the beginning to look closely at how it is assembled.

SOURCE: Kenmore stackable washer dryer. Dryer buzzer is

Just solved this problem for a Kenmore stackable washer dyer! Sorry I don't have the model number. I have a baby on the way and a small house. I was pretty sure I would get no sleep between the baby crying and the baby crying because of that darn buzzer!

The buzzer is attached to the timer with a quick connect post. Access the controls by unscrewing the large panel above the washer door. You will need a square screwdriver or a very small flathead and some vice grips to get it started. The panel will fall forward onto the washer. In mine there was a pouch with an electrical diagram of the unit. To release the controls, two more screws must be removed from the sides of the small panel housing the controls. Once again you need a square screwdriver or a very small flathead and some vice grips to get it started. Once these are out you should be able to lift the control panel up and it will fall forward. Get a small box or stand to put on the washer. This will support the panel as the wires are not that long. On the left side of the timer controls you will see a quick connect post marked with an "H". Disconnect this wire and your problems are solved. Beautiful silence! I put electrical tape on the quick connect wire. Not sure if I needed to as I'm not an electrician. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Kenmore Model 96573220 won't stop at end of cycle.

I figured out it was the start switch and took the switch apart and repaired the welded together contacts. Took only a few minutes.

How do the alarms turn on when the dryer is finished?

Hard to say without model number. Most roper dryers have a small buzzer built in that automatically works without any settings. Others have a buzzed setting on the start button while others have a separate loudness knob on the control panel.

How do I turn on the alarm when the dryer is finished?

Many dryers do not have an alarm. If the alarm worked when the dryer was new, the wire to the buzzer may be loose, or the buzzer itself may be burned out.

How to shut off dryer end of cycle beep. Can u run

If the model number is correct, the dryer End of Cycle signal cannot be adjusted or turned off. The informatrion is listed on page 11 of the Owner's Manual:

http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/owner_manuals/16695/WHIRLPOOL-Laundry-Centers-L0710382?brand_name_search=LTE5243D

The only way to turn the signal off, is to remove the operator console, locate the signal (buzzer) module and disconnect the wire(s). The buzzer is listed as item 32 under the "Washer/Dryer Control Panel" parts listing:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Whirlpool-Parts/Washer-dryer-combo-Parts/Model-YLTE5243DQ2/1198/0152000/W0702346/00001?blt=06&prst=&shdMod=

CAUTION: If you choose this option, make sure you UNPLUG the washer/dryer before servicing anything inside. If you disconnect any wires, make sure you cover them with heat shrink or electrical tape to keep them from coming into contact with anything else.

The washer and dryer use a common power source, but the rest of the functions operate independently of each other. You can safely run both units at the same time.

If need further assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

How can I disconnect the alarm when the drying is finished?

  • Turn off and unplug the dryer. Since you need to remove the front panels and expose the electrical wiring of the dryer's buzzer you should turn the dryer off and then unplug the machine to avoid shocks. Once the dryer has been unplugged, turn its dial to the "on" setting to make sure the dryer is completely powered down.

  • 2

Locate the buzzer. The best way to locate the dryer's buzzer is to check the machine's schematic or manual. The buzzer is usually located behind the front panel of the machine. In some cases the buzzer is located behind the dryer's back panel. Dryer buzzers are generally small black boxes that are wired to the timing device.

  • 3

Pull the buzzer's wires. The most simple way to deal with a buzzer is to pull the wires that run into the buzzer. The wires should pull free with a firm but careful tug. Once you've disconnected the wires from the buzzer simply run a good amount of electrical tape over the ends so that no live wires are exposed. If you want to get the wires out of the way, tape the wrapped wires to the top or side of the dryer panels.

  • 4

Test the machine. Once you've yanked and taped the buzzer's wires, plug the dryer back in and turn the machine on to test the buzzer. If the machine still buzzes at the end of the cycle then you removed the wrong wires. However, chances are that the machine will finish its drying with a quiet whimper instead of a loud buzz.

I want to disconnect the buzzer sound on my dryer

First of all if you can remove the back of the console to expose the timer and switches, there is usually a small block with 2 wires to it, and it has no knob connected, this is usually the alarm buzzer, remove 1 wire and tape it off, then try the dryer if no alarm wala.
