SOURCE: Palm Treo 650 doesn't see bluetooth headsets, AND wired headphone jack is shorted

Had a similar problems. Throw out wired headsets with shorting problems. Their too cheap to try and fix.

Try rebooting the phone, then make sure the wireless headset is on. The trick is to get it into "trusted devices", so when you get the phone to seek new or nearby devices, you need to push the button on the earpiece so it sends a signal at the time the phone is trying to find it. It took me a number of trys, but finally got it to work. I use Verizon and they were quite helpful, even though the phone was "out of warrenty". I was re-activating my phone after not using it for a couple of years.

SOURCE: Broken RCA / phono jack - where to find new part?

You can buy Panel mount RCA (Phono) jacks at Radioshack, I think a 4 pack is less than 5 bucks, That should take care of your problem.

Good Luck,

What are connections and connectors for audio output to wireless headset

Hi Richard,

First, you'll need to determine which type of input(s) the wireless headset transmitter has. Most common is the 3.5mm stereo plug designed to slip into the headphone jack of a TV, MP3 player, cell phone, etc. Some transmitters have adapters in the box to allow connecting to the Left and Right channel RCA / phono style jacks found on other components such as CD, DVD, VCR, Stereo receivers / amplifiers, etc.

You'll need to find OUTPUTS of the CD and TV that match the plug on the wireless headset transmitter. If yours doesn't include adapters to go from say the RCA jacks mentioned above - to whatever connector that the transmitter input has - you'll need to go to your local Radio Shack store or similar store to see if they can provide an adapter that will allow you to connect.

Here are a couple plugs / adapters:

Above: A "3.5mm stereo patch cable". Your transmitter may have a cable with an end like this to plug into the TV's headphone jack.

These cables / adapters are typically $5 to $10 maximum.

I hope this helps and good luck!

The speakers no long produce sound after using the headphone jack,,disconnected jack , still no sound

When you plug in the headphones, the jack itself routes the signal away from the speakers. When you unplug the headphones, the jack has contacts that close again, routing signal to the speakers. If the jack contacts are dirty, they won't close correctly. I suspect were you to clean the contacts, you'd solve the problem.

Elgato EyeTV (T5301LL/A) Video Capture: I have an old camcorder - with only a yellow video...

If you have just one Audio Out RCA jack then the camcorder only recorded in MONO, so all you would need to do is either plug the wire coming from your single Audio Out jack into the left or white input jack of your Capture Device which may have an option in the software program to set it to recieve audio in MONO, or you can buy a RCA Jack Splitter that goes from a single Female RCA jack on one end and 2 Male RCA Jacks on the other end. Then you take the end of the Splitter with 2 plugs and plug one of them into the White Jack and the other into the Red Jack on your Capture Device, and the other end with just one plug should plug into the cord coming from the Black Jack on your Camcorder.

Preplace the charger by another device

Yes it is possible with any cd changer that have RCA jacks behind the radio,
that is your case, you are goin gto install a audio sensing device, when the ipod is on the cd changer will stop,
when the ipod is off the cd changer will play 10 seconds later
this interface is only rca jacks easy to plug behind the radio and you can use any audio source, ipod mp3 sat radio
you can also buy a ipod cable

audio sensing device, it is made for sony, but will work with any rca jacks source, also cd changer must be present all the time, don't remove it

I want to hook up my phone to car stereo as an auxilary and need a cord that fits phone that will plug into 3.5 jack. any suggestions?

Pick up a corded hands free device, providing the 3.5 jack is for the car, and there is one that looks like the 3.5 but is smaller for the phone. If your phone has one of those "data" looking plugs for the hands free, this will probably not work.

Then go to radio shack and buy the parts for a 3.5 plug, the friendly geeks there should be able to direct you on its reasonably simple assembly. Simply cut the headphone/mic, off of the hands free, attach your 3.5 and Bob's your uncle!!!

Too complex?? You could also try the "Jupiter Jack" as hawked by Billy Mays. It will broadcast your phone to your car with radio waves.

Hope this helps!!

Can not get a dialtone to call out and when my other house phones ring and I pick up the receiver on the RCA, no one is there.

Move a known good phone to this jack and plug it in. Similarly, take the phone to another jack that you know is working. (Try new phone cords on the non-working phone.) If you get a dial tone with this phone at another jack and the wire is good and seated properly at the jack and the phone, you'll need to take a closer look at the jack. A wire might have come loose in the faceplate connections or keystone jack. If you have a keystone jack, reseating the wires requires a "Punch down" tool to push down the wire. Replacement jacks (at hardware or tech stores) come with a plastic one included. Better ones are sold separately. If the phone doesn't work at another location, check your manual and warranty information.

I hope this helps.

No picture from monitor out on Onkyo TX-DS898

I realize you may have already doubled checked but make sure you follow this from the manual:
If the satellite tuner / cable box is equipped with an S video output
terminal, connect it to the S VIDEO 3 (or 4) IN terminal with an S
video cable. If it does not have an S video output terminal, connect
its video output terminal to the VIDEO 3 (or 4) IN terminal using an
RCA-type video connection cable. You do not need to connect to
both the S VIDEO 3 (or 4) IN and VIDEO 3 (or 4) IN terminals. If
the satellite tuner or television has component video outputs,
connect them to one of the COMPONENT VIDEO INPUT jacks.
With the initial settings of the TX-DS898, the VIDEO 3 and
VIDEO 4 input sources are set for the COMPONENT VIDEO
INPUT 2 jack.
If the video connection is made at COMPONENT VIDEO INPUT
1, this must be changed at the Setup menu: Input Setup → Video
Setup → Component Video (see page 35).
Using an RCA-type audio connection cable, connect the audio
output terminal on the satellite tuner or television to the same
VIDEO 3 (or 4) IN audio jacks on the TX-DS898. Make sure that
you properly connect the left channel to the L jack and the right
channel to the R jack.
If the device has a digital output jack as well, be sure to also connect
it to either a DIGITAL INPUT (COAXIAL) or DIGITAL INPUT
(OPTICAL) jack on the TX-DS898 depending on the device.
With the initial settings of the TX-DS898, the VIDEO 3 input source
is set for digital input at the OPTICAL 3 jack, and the VIDEO 4
input source is set for digital input at the OPTICAL 4 jack.
If the digital connection is made at a different jack, this must be changed
at the Setup menu: Input Setup → Digital Setup (see page 33).

Jack problem - no sound

I have this problem too. It is probably the jack in the TX. Mine only plays through one channel. It can be repaired as well.

Another option you can try is getting drivers to run a bluetooth wireless stereo head through it. It's some dough to do it but it takes care of the jack issue.
