SOURCE: On my Sebo Airbelt C3,
Try spraying some furniture polish into the release handle. maybe just dust preventing it from opening and the wax and get in there and clean out the dust. Other then that, you will have to just keep working it until it opens.

Dust etc collects in the filter above the dust container. The dust container remains empty. Hoover then over heats and cuts out. Collect in replaced new filters in Hoover but problem still remains.
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. My question is how old is the Hoover vacuum? If it less than a year you should really see an Authorized Hoover vacuum cleaner dealer that the problem might be covered under a factory warranty. This should not be happening and it sound to me like there is a clog somewhere in the vacuum fill area that is causing it to do this to you and the vacuum. You are lucky that you have a thermal switch that does shut it off. If not and it is over the one year factory warranty then you should see a local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or contact Hoover Cust Serv @ the website and or phone 3 listed below. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
