Do you mean the Vivitar ViviCam X014N? If so, the battery compartment is on the right hand side as you look back of the camera with the view screen and menu buttons. The cover on the battery compartment will rotate up from the bottom of the camera when opened. This is shown in the manual although it isn't completely clear. The current link to the manual for the ViviCam X014 is http://www.vivitar.com/files_products/445/ViviCam_X014_Camera_Manual.pdf . See pages 3-4 for the pictures of the battery compartment location. Note: the N suffix refers to the case color. The manual applies to any ViviCam X014.
I hope this helps.

Testimonial: "You have saved my life. The more the family was looking over my shoulder the more nervous I got. So, I escaped to the computer room and asked for help. And Bless her, there was Cindy with the answer and more. I actually printed the manual suggested and can start from the begining. Thank you so very much for being there. Donna in Tacoma, WA"
On base. Slide cover out then swings open 3x AA. Insert correctly

You can get the Vivitar software by going here and clicking on the "Vivitar Experience Software" link.
You don't really need the Vivitar software, though. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

I just bought the Vivitar X014N. Does it have an internal memory card or do I have to buy one? The www.vivitar.com website does not work. How do I get a manual?
