SOURCE: I need assistance in how

I'm sorry for the difficulties you're experiencing in connecting Bose Equalizer to the Yamaha Receiver. To enable use with all of your A/V components, EQs (and other external sound processors) require that the audio signal flow out of the receiver, through the equalizer, then back into the receiver before it's amplified and sent to your speakers. To add an equalizer to your system, you'll need a receiver with either a tape monitor loop or a preamp-level output/main-in loop.
Unfortunately, the Receiver does not have both these inputs. If your receiver doesn't have a tape monitor or preamp-out/main-in loop, you can still connect a graphic EQ for use with one specific component in your system. In that case, you can connect the equalizer to the MD tape out or CD out. But it will only work according to the input connected to the MD tape In and CD in jack of the Receiver respectively.

Thanks for understanding. Please let me know if you require any clarifications.

If i hook up an equlizer to my Kenwood receiver with the tape monitor inputs and outputs will my surround sound still work

Tape (audio) in, is input.
Tape (audio) out, is output to record what the receiver is playing.
This won't work, to connect an equalizer.
Receivers have a zero out and in and are jumpered until adding what you want to add, that's where equalizer or amp, pre-amp goes

hi,
Try this. You need 4 RCA setreo Chord for this.

1. connect the cd player out to the LINE input of Equlizer.
2. connect the Record out of equlizer to Tape's Record input.
3. connect the Play out of the Tape to the Play in of Equlizer.
4. connect the Line out of the Equlizer to the CD input of amp.

Always Select CD in the amp. And select between tape and CD in the Equlizer.
