This machine seems to be very heavy when I am pushing it into my rooms to vacuum. Is it supposed to be that difficult to move BEFORE I start using it?

Many machines have traction assist when the motor is turned on. Some of the torque of the motor is taken via belt to power the wheels to assist in vacuuming.
There is (most likely) also a way to disable this feature though it does not lower the power much at all.

SOURCE: DC07 Very difficult to push forward.

on the front of the base there are 3 very small rollers made out of rubber, these are either just dry and won't turn or worn and or damaged,

How do i get the wheel off my bissell heavy duty?

the wheel would be properly spaced during manufacture so the problem will be more than a washer
the wheel will probably be held on by a spring toothed washer that has to be pried off first ( difficult but can be done )
the wheel could be worn out or broken in the webs on the inside

I have the Hoover, self propelled vacuum. I have only used the self propel function a few times, but our babysitter used the feature and now the vacuum only works on the highest carpet setting. The middle...

Move the carpet height control switch to a higher position if the vacuum is difficult to push. If the setting is too low for the carpet being cleaned, the brushes press against the floor preventing the vacuum from moving easily.Set to a medium-high height setting then check.Slide the "Self-Propel" button to the "ON" position if the cleaner does not self-propel. -----------
The self-propel feature operates only when the cleaner switch and the self propel button are both ON. ---------- Try this settings and check. This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Too much solution being dispensed--carpets very wet--running out of solution before even 1/3 of room cleaned

The cleaning solution tank is only sufficient for part of a room, unless the room is very small.

Are you following the instructions for using the cleaner carefully? The machine has to be pulled backwards (towards you) at a steady pace in order for the vacuum to pick up the water that is dispensed. Do not use it like a normal vacuum cleaner - that will not work.

You need to start facing a wall, and pull the cleaner towards you, moving at about one foot every two or three seconds. The vacuum will then pick up the water that has been dispensed and the carpet will be damp but not sodden.

Smartstrand carpet makes vacuums difficult to push

The seam problem could be an installation problem. It is important to pattern match any carpet with a pattern. If the carpet is a plush carpet, the seams should not be invisible, but not unsightly. If he carpet is a frieze, the seams should be hard to find. Any variance from these norms could mean a redo of the seams by a talented carpet installer. In a large room such as yours seams will never be invisible.

Using too much solution AND leaving dirty streaks in my carpet

The reason for it to use soloution is it may be set on heavy traffic. To fix this turn your knob labeled heavy, normal& light traffic and water rinse to either normal or light traffic. To fix the streaks when you pull the machine backward pull it super slow (you may have to do this a few times) if this dont work take it back

DC17 doesnt move on floor good

Yes, it certainly sounds as though you haven't re-fitted the sole-plate correctly. On most models, the sole-plate has three tabs at the front, and these locate in slots in the bumper bar at the front of the body. These tabs must be in the slots before you tighten the three locking screws. You need to hold the rear of the sole-plate up while pushing the tabs in to the slots, then press down on the rear and tighten the screws. Just the fact that you cleaned the machine will not be the cause of the problem.
