You cannot use the iPod touch with Windows Media Player, you can only use the iPod touch with iTunes. You need to download iTunes and when you install iTunes make sure it is set to automatically search your computer for music. iTunes will find all of your Windows Media Player songs, convert them for use on the iPod and then you can synchronize your iPod with the iTunes software.
Of course you can not import music from windows media player to your ipod, because windows media player is only a player. So you need to locate were is the music located. Once you can reach now were is the music located. You can easily copy the music and paste it in the music files in your ipod.
Normally you need to use Itunes to upload songs into Ipod, if you want to transfer songs directly from Media player you will need to install a software like MediaMonkey If you want to upload songs from WMP without installing additional software you can also follow instructions below:
How To Transfer Songs from Windows Media Player to iPod
You can get the files from an online music service like iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, Limewire, Bearshare, etc. Or you can use Windows Media Player 10 or 11 to "Rip" songs from a CD - I would reccommend ripping them in mp3 format.
IPod isn't compatible with Windows Media player. You have to use ITunes to manage your music files. Ipods use mp3, mp4, a protected form of mp4 unique to apple, and aac format. aac format isn't recognized by windows media player.
