I have a Husqvarna HU625HWT high wheel trimmer. Will not start. I do have fresh fuel in it. It will run on starting fluid. Just 2nd season with about 6 hours on it.

Float seems to work. When I pulled the plug on the bottom there was fuel there. Fuel flows from the tank with out issue.

If you have a carb with a bowl, it may have a center screw that is where the gas gets pulled up into the engine. Check the bottom inside edge of that screw. There should be a tiny hole that lets the gas up into the engine. Take a wire and clean it out and make sure it is open. Old gas can form varnish and that can plug the hole.

Probably needs a carb kit, check main jet and main fuel inlet jet, is the spark crisp, fat and powerful, try running it with a borrowed coil as this may have an intermittent fault. Is fuel cap breather working or blocked, these small carbs are very sensitive. Make sure all is well with gaskets and diagrahms. Good luck the Yeti

If it is under 2 years old, I would take it to a warranty repair center. The carburetor have been giving some problems so they have needed to be replaced because they are sub standard quality.

SOURCE: chain saw no start

It needs spark, fuel and compression to run, which is missing?
Lets start with spark. Replace the plug (very inexpensive and great insurance), then do this:
Ignition Coil Test by SmallEng.com
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7WNBDRG4C4
You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. You do not have to bend up the electrode.

Before we get to fuel please download and follow the start procedure in your Operator's Manual here:
HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – useful when downloading IPLs and Manuals
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week
I own a Husky 359 that 1 time I forgot to set the fast idle (close then open choke). It was near impossible to start. I have missed the initial attempt to fire and flooded it too, again almost impossible to start.

If it has spark and the start procedure fails, put a teaspoon of fuel mix in the carburetor throat, open the choke, and pull. Does it fire and attempt to start? Yes it probably has a fuel delivery problem. Please repost with what you did and we will continue. HTH

IMO regardless of what your manual says ( yours probably 50:1) all 2-cycle engines should be operated on 50:1 (1 gallon of premium fuel to 2.6 ounces of quality 2-cycle engine oil). Once adjusted for this mix they start easier, pollute a bunch less, and do not foul out plugs, cylinders, or mufflers. Run lean conditions are most often caused by dirty air filters, air leaks not detected by the operator, or failing to add any oil to the fuel in the tank. Using a 32:1 mix prevents none of these occurring! I use a Pioneer chainsaw I purchased new early 1980 with a 50:1 mix.

SOURCE: I have a John Deere GX345 with a Kawasaki liquid

This engine or notorious for valve cover leaks, faulty pumps not to mention faulty intake gaskets allowing water/oil mixture. It is very important when intake gaskets to torque the intake in proper sequence about 3nM each time to 8nM final torque. If you are sure the engine has not ran hot drain oil and water, then replace the intake gaskets. The kawasaki service manual is widely available online. Follow the torque sequence or surfer warped parts.

Husqvarna HU 625HWT TRIMMER Wire wrapped and can't get to it to unwind

Hello Jan S,

On your Husqvarna HU625HWT (nice unit)

I'm not getting your reference to "A34"... I have pulled up both
your FREE parts list and your operator's manual.
- Manual Husqvarna HU625HWT Operator Manual
- Parts Husqvarna HU625HWT Parts List Page 5

Everything can be rebuilt, adjusted or replaced...
Complete drawings show exploded views...

If you have a wire wrapped ... I would disassemble
to an accessible point and use a small cutter

(like a DREMEL rotary grinder to cut only the WIRE
for removal)...

The drawings are pretty detailed...
Looks and sounds reasonable... Go for it.

Might just snap a couple of pictures as you go..

Hope I have helped.

I have a Husqvarna HU625HWT high wheel trimmer. was running fine, then died. won't restart, even after cooling, doesn't seem to be getting gas to the engine. any thoughts?

Hi there it's possible that the gaskets on the carb need replacing. Firstly try cleaning the air filter and make sure the choke isn't stuck.

Kit doesn't like being sat unused, especilly if its sat with fuel in it. Make sure you drain all the old fuel as this will no doubt have gone stale. Use fresh fuel, remove and clean the plug. You may have to clean the carb out and possibly replace internal carb gaskets if they have perished.
