Unfortunately those units are prone to breakage they are also usually a sealed unit (not able to take apart). The best thing to do would be take it back where you bought it and try to get your money back. They just aren't worth fixing. Visit www.stevessewandvac.com they have a selection of hand vacs if you don't see what your looking for contact them by email they can help.

SOURCE: How to...

My HV8000 is a 900 watt - not sure if it's what you have or not, but it you go to blackanddecker.com and click on customer service (then parts or replacement parts & manuals), it will pop up a window where you can type your model number (or other info.) and get the manual as well as replacement parts - item number and cost.

SOURCE: Why won't my new black and decker hand held vac chv1410l charge?

First test the wall socket with a lamp to make sure it's working.

Next find a friend who has a VOLTMETER and TEST the two silver pins at the base of the charger for voltage... not to worry ~ it's low voltage at those pins. (14 volts DC).

Black and decker hand vac, are batteries replaceable or are you better off to just replace vac ? approx 2 yrs old

If you can dismantle it you will either discover a number of separate cells glued and soldered to a circuit board or a battery pack connected by wires.

Both ebay and Amazon are likely to be able to provide a replacement for either much cheaper than replacing the vac, though in the case of a battery pack it might be necessary to make a minor modification to the wire/plug.

B andD dustbuster makes loud grinding noise. how can I fix this problem? It is a Pivot lithium 20V unit

On 20V Black and Decker hand vac I was broken motor mounts. I took a housing off with 4 screws and could see that after 2-3 seconds of running the motor would move outwards and pull the fan into another housing. There are 6 struts that the motor rests within. But they do not provide enough friction to keep the motor from moving outward. So I cleaned everything off well, and wiped it down with some acetone. Then I epoxied these struts to the motor body. I think this will work.
In the photo you can see a screw. There are breaks in the plastic body that the screw would secure.
You can see some struts epoxied to the motor body.

It will not hold a charge. Been plugin for days at a time then it will run a minute then stop

Hello Karen, It sounds as though may have a bad battery or the charger is shutting down before the battery gets fully charged.

Black decker problem

Sounds like it could be a bad battery pack that's not accepting a charge.

I have a 7.2V Dust Buster Black and Decker cordless vacuum and we have lost the little filter inside it.
Where can I buy it?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
Please include the brand name and model #
A lot of your local vacuum cleaner dealers carry the Black and Decker filters depending on the model #’s and I will post a few phone #’s listed below so you can order a filter. But 1st always check with your local vac dealer. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
