I had the lamp go out on my tv , i replaced the lamp and i restarted the tv , it made a sound as if a fan was going , then the noise stopped , the sound was on but no picture , then 2 minutes later the tv shut off and the red light status came on in the lamp section , is there something im not doing or did i get a faulty bulb ? Is there a reset process im suppose to go through when replacing the bulb ? Any help would be appreciated , thanks
Look at it really carefully where the bulb plugs into the lame the connector is not sitting firmly on it reconnect it and make sure it's firmly connected to the plug.
you can unplug it a million times and it wont help you have to get at the plug and make sure it on firm.
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on
the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device
and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
Afterreplacingthelampcartridge,whenyoupowerontheTV,themessage"Didyouchangethelamp?PressENTERforYes,pressCANCELforNo"willappear,pressENTERtoreset.
After replacing the lamp cartridge, when you power on the TV, the message "Did you change the lamp? PressENTERf or Yes , press CANCEL for No "will appear, press ENTER to reset.
some tv tech just emailed me and said i may have pushed the ballast plug out the tv housing <<<<
that is what i have been trying to get you to make sure didnt happen in the previous messages.
That what i thought, is it possible to take a picture of that so i can show others email it [email protected]
The first thing to do is a system reset using the recessed button on the front panel.
34 Lamp did not turn on
The most common is of course the lamp.
If the lamp is new and the ballast connections are not bent over, then the next probable part is the ballast.
I check for voltages and signals going to the ballast and if they are there, the ballast is bad.
Check for 5-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 1 and 2 on the Engine Driver
PCB if missing replace the Power PCB part # 930B921002 3.
not bent over, ill have to see if i can find a picture, i thought i saw one on one of the forums.
ok, i search on error code 34
found this to a simular problem you have
The set has been in the repair shop... from what I understand, it was a
bad IC9A20 chip (wherever that is). Replace that chip, reset to
factory, center and align mirrors.
that chip is the voltage regulator chip

found this today:
Probably bad capacitors. My 52525 has the same issue using component
cables and tech said the capacitors on the formatter board has to be
replaced. Part back ordered

I unplugged it and plugged it in multiple times and i got the same thing , is there anything else it could be , the sound works and everything , i hear a sound like the fan is going and the fan stops , then after two minutes it shuts down and that red light comes on ,
Would this cause the red light to keep coming on ? This may be a silly question but will the red light come on if it is not detecting the lamp ? thanks for the help
Which one of these errors will indicate that the bulb is not secure or that it needs replaced ? Some tv tech just emailed me and said i may have pushed the ballast plug out the tv housing , i dont know what that is , and he said it may be a bad power assembly , does it sound like that to you ?
thanks , he called me last night at home and i pulled the back off the tv and put the lamp in , the plug totally came out when i pushed the lamp in , so i just have to get that part fixed , hopefully i can this weekend , i hope that is all that is wrong ,
yes , i can do it from my digital camera tonight , it totally popped out when i put the lamp in , i had to have my fiance hold the lamp while i plugged in back in , he stated that if that dont fix there is an issue with the 5 or 12 volt or something , i did that error test you sent me and it came up as 12 ,
I got the connection on the tv working , but the lamp will not come on , im getting error 34 now , any idea what that might be , tech told me might be bad power supply or ballast plug bad , please let me know , thanks ,
I did the system reset on the tv , not sure if i do it before i get the error or after i get the error , and as far as the ballast i dont know how to check for voltage on it , im cluelest to it ,
Tell me what you mean by making sure the ballast connectors are bent over , thanks ,
ok , please let me know if you find one ,
I also have the same problem, no picture only sound. The red light came on, so i changed the light bulb and its still the same . Have anyone found a solution
