My Mother in Law (85yrs old) bought this player last year and when we opened it and plugged it in we could not get it to do anything. It appears to be in permanent "stop" mode. It flashes "play seq" and then goes right to stop. My father in law who is very much a handfull would enjoy a movie once in awhile but this suckers not helping. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I have bought 3 of the N700-PD portable DVD Players all have very little use. All of them will not play a DVD, they all say loading and then it says No Disc. I can hear it spinning while it is loading and then it stops. Tried different DVDs but still the same thing. I got one of them to play a CD. What is the solution to this problem and why all 3 players at once? Please help me!

Usually this is an alignment problem-these players get banged around alot-also they suffer from people pushing the DVD or CD down too hard and this makes the space between the laser and disk smaller and this makes it unreadable-may need to take to store to get fixed-you may also try to lift the plate that the disk sits on by a millimeter or so and try it-they get pushed down from putting disk on the plate-that may help -it can't hurt as it already does not work-good luck

Hi my name is Suzie and I have an APEX digital portable dvd player PD-450. When I put a disc on, it will say "loading" but that's how far we get. It does not play my disc. What can I do or where...

Hello Suzie and welcome to FixYa. There are two possible issues that come to my mind. Firstly have you checked the discs to see if they may have fingerprints or debris on them? If so you should wipe them with water or a lens cleaning solution and dry them using a microfiber or other soft cloth and wait until they are fully dry. Try the disc again to see if this worked for you. If not my second assumption would be that your laser lens has failed which would require service by a professional. I have provided the number for APEX below for your use. I hope I was of help to you and good luck. Happy Easter.

My sony portable dvd player won't work. It just keeps saying that its loading. Then it say's check disk. what should I do.

Does this happen with all discs?
Are the discs clean and not scratched?

Try a DVD lens cleaning disc (not a CD lens cleaner).

You may have to try the cleaning disc more than once.

My Samsung DVD player keeps failing to load any DVD and displays DISC ERR. Any ideas?

You can try and clean the laser with a cotten bud or cue tip, alternatively you may need to replace the laser or easier to do, the dvd loader assembly. Good luck.

Doesnot get pass loading

Are the DVD's you are trying to load copies or originals

If an original will not load, then unless you have the Regional Code set wrong, it must be down to the laser in the head not finding the boot track

Try using a laser disk cleaner head cleaner which you can buy from Tandy

I have a 7" Audiovox portable dvd player that keep saying loading then after it say no madia....

It may be that the disc you are trying to play is so dirty that it cannot be read. The other problem may be that the laser head is dirty especially with a portable device. Either way the machine cannot read the disc and gives up trying after some time. Careful cleaning shoudl resolve your issue.

Getting "Bad Disc" message after Loading message...

If you've had it a long time and used it often, could be the lens is dirty or something wore down and it should be trashed since newer players have more features like usb ports.

DVD player issues

Most likely the dvd is dirty, scratched, or chipped. Try cleaning the dvd disk with a soft cloth (chamois works best). Look at the surface of the disk and if it is scratched lightly, dust and dirt particles, fingerprints, etc will cause refractions from the laser light in the dvd player, which is then read as an error by the dvd player. Cleaning it with a soft cloth will sometimes help.

If that does not work, hold the disk up towards a light source and look for light coming through from the other side. If this happens, the disk is unreadable and unrepairable as the data source has been corrupted.
