How true: I love this smoker but until the heating element doesn't work. I am on my 3rd one now. Each have had the heating element go out. Luckily the 1st 2 smokers I took back to where I purchased them and they "Cabalas" gave me a new one "NO questions asked". Now I have this 3rd smoker. Guess what! Not heating again. I decided to take this thing apart myself and investigate the problem. Since the unit is all sealed I need a Drill, dremal cutting tool to open up the backside to get at the heating element and wiring. What I found was that the CONNECTOR to the heating element was BURNED up. All wiring was fine! I believe MasterBuilt is not putting in a high enough temp connector and also the connector looks to me of dissimilar metal which will cause metal breakdown when heated. I then went to Ace Hardware and found some High temp connectors and replaced the originals. All working now!
My friend has the same smoker with the same problem ... He called Masterbuilt and got the song and dance and how much it would cost to fix - so went out and purchased a Different Brand. Knowing that I had fixed my smoker I ask him if I could take his apart .... Well and behold ..... It had the same CONNECTOR problem. I wish I had my 1st 2 smokers back to check those out also. But my theory is that they also had the same problem.
Here is 1 more problem I have seen with this Smoker ... I store my smoker on my deck all seasons (covered up when not in use). During the winter when it is cold out my smoker control panel will not come on. It always works when it was warm out. So what I have found is if I take the control panel off and bring it inside to warm up .... Then reinstall it all works fine! My theory is that the control panel has a liquid crystal that is freezing causing it not to work.

SOURCE: My heating element is not working. How can I get a replacement.

I experienced the same problem. My heating element was not working. After a Continuity Test, the Heating Coil was dead and needs replacement. I asked Masterbuilt if any heating coil replacement parts were available. They said "no", but they could offer a discounted sale on a new Smoker for about $175.00. I am still looking. A local appliance dealer said the internet was the most likely place to find one. After looking on the internet, I can't seem to find one yet. If you know of any, please let me know. Call (616) 772-1332 and ask for Bob. Thanks

Retest the breaker. One side can trip without moving the handle. This will stop 240 to the element but still operate everything that operates at 120 volts.

Change element in a samung dv665j

Usually, one takes the rear cover off revealing the element area. I doubt if the heating element is burned out. Typically the small thermostat or thermal fuse link blows before the heating element goes. You would have to see the diagram of your model online. Most sites have the exploded parts view of that section online. If you don't have a meter tester you may have to replace all 3. Some models have them all tied into 1 board. This site has video troubleshooting. http://www.repairclinic.com/RepairHelp/How-To-Fix-A-Dryer/8-160-1067262-/Samsung-Dryer-doesn-t-heat-DV665J Samsung Dryer Doesn Heat

My whirlpool dryer comes on and runs good but it wont get hot can you tell me whats the problem

Hello there and welcome to fixya there are several things that could make this dryer not heat up
Here are the most common things

Thermal Fuse

If the dryer doesn\'t heat, but the drum
turns, check the thermal fuse(s). The thermal fuse protects the dryer
from overheating and helps to prevent fires. If the thermal fuse is
blown, it will have to be replaced.

Enter your model number to see parts for your dryer.

Help me find my model number

Gas Valve Solenoid

The gas valve has two or more electric
solenoids which open the valve to let the gas flow into the burner
assembly. If the dryer doesn\'t heat one or more of the solenoids may be
defective. If the igniter glows for 90 seconds but the burner flame
doesn\'t light, replace these coils as a set.

Dryer Igniter

If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the igniter might
be burned out. Check the igniter for continuity with an ohm meter. Dryer
igniters burn out over time, similar to a light bulb.

Heating Element

The heating element on an electric dryer can
burn out over time. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the element should be
checked for continuity. The heating element cannot be repaired and must
be replaced if defective.

Heating Element Assembly

the heating element assembly on an electric
dryer can burn out over time. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the element
assembly should be checked for continuity. The heating element assembly
cannot be repaired and must be replaced if defective.

Flame Sensor

Gas dryers have a flame sensor to detect the
heat given off by the flame. If the dryer doesn\'t heat, the flame sensor
might be defective. Check the flame sensor for continuity. This is not
as common as a burned out igniter or thermal fuse.

High Limit Thermostat

Although not common, if the dryer doesn\'t
heat the high limit thermostat can be defective. It can be checked for
continuity. If the thermostat is "open" the dryer doesn\'t heat.

Cycling Thermostat

The cycling thermostat regulates the
temperature of the air in the dryer. If the dryer doesn\'t heat it may be
caused by a defective cycling thermostat. This is not common.

Main Control Board

The main control board is normally not at
fault when the dryer doesn\'t heat. Check all of the other components in
this troubleshooting guide before replacing the main control board. The
main control board cannot be tested easily and must be replaced if it is
defective.

Timer
The timer is normally not at fault if the
dryer doesn\'t heat. In many situations where timers are replaced they
end up being returned. Check all of the more common components in this
troubleshooting guide before replacing the timer

Maytag mde7057ayw not drying on intelidry

Hello there and welcome to fixya
Heating element Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable. To determine if the heating element is burned out, watch the part testing video at the bottom of this page. Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.) To determine if the thermal fuse has blown out, watch the part testing video at the bottom of this page.

TOP OVEN WORKS OK BUT BOTTOM OVEN DOES NOT HEAT UP

Hello,

There are a number of reasons why you may find that your oven doesn't heat up, and troubleshooting oven heating elements is not too complicated, so you should be able to manage this in a few hours. When you are trying to decide what is the cause of your oven not heating up properly, you should be able to identify the different problems, and also understand how to repair the oven without too much difficulty. If you find a lot of problems, then you may need to provide a different solution, for example replacing the heating element and fittings completely.
Heating Element is Broken
This is perhaps the most common cause of the oven not heating up. The element inside the oven will not become hot if the electrical connections are damaged, or if the element itself is not working. The heating element can be removed and replaced easily, and this is perhaps a very good idea if you have any problems with the heating system of your oven. Test the heating element by firing up the oven with the door open, and your hand close to the front of the element. You should be able to feel it warming up, so if it doesn't, take of the screws which hold it in place, and then unplug the connections. You can take the heating element to a store and they should be able to replace the part for you.

Hope this help in solving the problem.....
