Samsung LN-T3253H LCD Sound Problems

I just purchased a new Samsung LN-T3253H LCD tv from Circuit City on 12/2/07. After a couple of hours of watching tv on it I started noticing a humming/buzzing sound coming from the tv. I called Samsung about the problem and i was told to unplug the tv, let set a few minutes and plug back in. I did this and the sound problem was still there. I boxed up the tv and carried it back to CC for a new tv. Got the new tv home and had no problems with it until a couple of days later where the same issue with the sound started again. I have also tried to correct the issue by unpluging everything from the tv except for the power cord and the sound problem still exists. I have the tv plugged into a surge protector that i also purchased new from CC, and have tried plugging the tv directly into the wall outlet thinking this might solve the problem and that the surge protector may have been causing the issue but that was not the case. Sound still could be heard. Now the sound has gotten to the point that after the tv has been on for awhile the humming/buzzing noise can be heard over the sound of the movie/show i am watching and is very annoying and noticeable. What you suggest I do and is this a common problem? Thanks

Can anyone else give me another solution to the sound problem with this tv or at least a more detailed solution? What exactly does a loose transformer mean? Please help.

  • bccengineer Dec 16, 2007

The sound is not coming from the speakers. The sound can best be heard when the tv is muted. The sound appears to be coming from the back side of the tv around the top right side with the viewpoint being from the front of the tv. Based upon comments it must be high voltage transformer since the power supply is located on bottom left of tv. If anyone has anymore suggestions based upon my comments please advise. Thanks.

I called Samsung to report the problem again. I was referred to local service shop who came by and trouble shooted the problem. A new power board was ordered and installed in less than 10 days. Problem is fixed and I have had no more problems since.

Television has a hum that has recently developed. The volume now has to be higher to hear the sound.

PEOPLE, YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO THE STORE, BUY THE SAME TV AGAIN, SWAP THE TV'S AT HOME AND RETURN THE "OLD" TV IN THE "NEW" BOX WITH THE NEW RECEIPT. IN THE CASE OF TOO MANY RETURNS, HAVE A FRIEND, MOM, DAD, SISTER, GIRLFRIEND TO BUY ONE FOR YOU AND DO THE SWAP LATER.
NOTE: I REALLY HATE DOING THIS TO THE STORES, BUT IF YOU PAY FOR SOMETHING IT SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN 30-40 DAYS. PROBLEM SOLVED! :)

This is a silent recall by Samsung for many of their LCD HD TVs. Mine just got picked up 30 minutes ago for warranty repair. A coil on the power supply circuit board is the problem. Samsung had installed a cheap coil which is defective.

Do you know the value of the coil? I recently purchased this tv and have this same problem.

  • Anonymous Dec 14, 2007

is the sound coming from the tv or speakers?
there are transformer in the set, one being the high voltage
transformer the other is a power supply transformer, you need to open
it up and find where the sound is coming from.

I finally got mine fixed. All the 3253h have this problem. It took two service trips because Samsung messed up the service bulletin. I had a court date and everything for my local CC, but I finally got the issue resolved. There is a choke around a coil on the power supply board, when the tv is warm that is what is making the noise. The coil/choke was replaced with a new version and the sound is gone. Strange but this is not a component level fix. A new component gives you the same problem. Either way I'm happy now

Check the speaker/s first. if found OK, check and replace damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit, or replace the audio output card with a new one of same number. Hello. My Samsung LCD model # LN-T3253H 60"/61"

It sounds like your LCD panel or your T-con board is bad . Panels are expensive so I would replace the T-con board first. You have to open the TV and get the part number from the actual board in order to find the correct one. You can find parts at www.interliquidparts.com

Call Samsung they may be willing to cover the repair since it so close the the end of the one year warranty. They are a good company and will usually work with the customer. Any brand of tv can fail and do at any time. Trust me on this. I've seen them do it before.

Continuous crackling from TV speakers

I'm sure you have figured this one out. TV itself is causing the problems.
The circuit board that produces the audio signal seems to be the problem.
Before you call the repairman, go to the web site Shopjimmy.com just to get an idea of what the parts will cost. That way he doesn't rip you off.

I hope I answered your question correctly. Please rate me. :)

Picture Size problem with Samsung Flat panel LN-T3253H

You should contact Samsung service to know if the internal setup for the picture sizing was not adjusted properly at the factory.

Take care that some of these sets have a user zoom mode. Maybe it is in the zoom mode. Check in your instruction manual before calling for service support.

Remote code

If this is for a universal remote, the different manufactures assign their own user code to set up their universal remote. They internaly convert to the proper protocol for the TV based on an internal software table.
