Double Sided printing of PDF files

I have a Canon MF4300 series hooked to my mac (Tiger OS) that will not print a pdf doc double-sided, but will print a word doc double-sided. What is the problem?

  • bwestmiami Sep 11, 2009

it's grayed out as an option, hence, the problem.

My Epson L120 won't print on both sides whenever I print on my Mac OS: Monterey?

Unfortunately, 2-sided printing is only available for the Epson L20 when used with the Windows OS. See page 22 of the user guide available here: https://www.epson.com.ph/Ink-Tank-Printers/L-Series/Epson-L120/s/SPT_C11CD76401?review-filter=Mac+OS+X+10.11.x#manuals . The current link to the manual is http://support2.epson.net/manuals/english/ij/l120/pdf/npd4965-00.pdf . You might be able to use the Duplex feature if you install BootCamp and an licensed version of Windows (XP up to WIndows 10). Neither BootCamp or licensed copies of Windows are free.

I wish that I had better news for you.

I don't know how to change from double sided printing to single sided

Is your computer running a Windows OS or is it a Mac?

Under Windows, after you press Print in your application (word processor or other program), press the Preferences or Properties button on the pop-up window. (The button title will depend on your version of Windows. It could be labeled as Advanced in some versions of the Canon software.)

Go to the Page Setup tab and uncheck the Duplex printing box. (This is the third section of the window.) Click Apply and then OK.

For the Mac, the setting is on the print dialog pop-up. It's a drop-down menu.

I hope this helps.

Cindy Wells
(Under some versions of Windows, you can also adjust this setting from the Printer Properties in the Hardware & Devices (Hardware and Sound) Control Panel. Right click on the printer and then select Properties to get the window to open.)

Duplex Error When Trying to Print PDF

I found that one of the papers i was trying to print was set for double sided printing, well i don't have the duplex part of it. So I kept getting the error. You have to cancel all the print jobs thru the buttons on the printer. Doing it in your computer did not help and turning off the printer did not help me. So after I cancelled all docs from printing and turned off double sided printing it was fixed.

How to set a MG5220 printer to do 2-sided copies?

The Canon MG5220 has a built-in auto duplexer and can print 2-sided documents. On a Mac, click print, and in the print dialog box select Duplex Printing & Margins (drop down options below Printer and Presets). Check the Duplex Priting box, and selected the Stapling side. Then click Print. That's it!!

How do you print double sided on the HP4015x printer?

Hello, The preferred method is to select Double Sided (duplex) printing, is from the print driver.
From a standard windows enviroment.
To perform the following task, open the printer driver and click the "Finishing" tab.
Click "Print on both sides". If you will be binding the document along the top edge, then select "Flip Pages UP" Another way is to setup the printer from the control panel. Press the "menu" button on the control panel - navigate down to the "configure Device" sub menu, navigate down to the "duplex" option On/Off. The link below will take you to the opeators guide manual.

Double sided is no longer an option with mac os 10.5.4

Go into the advanced settings of the driver and look for the settings that tell the copier what features you have. Make sure the duplex is turned on. Normally I set these up for Windows use and I have one client who uses a Mac and he did show me that the features do exist for the print driver.

Once it is enabled the double sided printer feature should work.

Double sided printing Pixma MP520

here's how:

print double sided pages

1. Set your computer software for double sided printing if you have a printer that is compatible. Double sided printers are generally professional style machines, and most offices, schools and libraries will have them. On a PC, go to the drop down "File" menu and select "Double Sided Printing" under the "Preferences" or "Properties" window and print. If you have a MAC, click "Copies and Pages" under the "File" menu, select "Layout" and then click on "Long-Edged Binding" and print.
2.Print double sided with your standard home printer, again, by setting your PC writing software. When you are ready to print, click on the drop down "File" menu and select "Print." From the "Print" window select "odd pages only," or "even pages only."
3.Set your odd and even pages a bit differently if you are working with MAC writing software. Select "Print" from the drop down "File" menu and click on the arrow to drop the "Copies & Pages" menu. Under the "Copies & Pages" menu, select "Paper Handling" and then click on "Odd Numbered Pages" or "Even Numbered Pages."
4.Select "Odd Pages Only" or "Odd Numbered Pages" and then print as usual. It is a good idea to mark the top of your first page with a pencil so that you know the direction and side of the page your printer prints. Use the mark to determine how to turn your pages and place them back in the printer. Select "Even Pages Only" or "Even Numbered Pages" and print again. $('.Article .Steps .Image').each(function(i,e){ e = $(e); e.find('img').error(function(){ $(this).unbind(); e.remove(); }); });

Double sided printing

There should be a setting in the 2-sided properties for binding orientation.

For a MAC, do this:

On the File menu, click Print.
Open the Two-Sided Printing panel.
Select the option to print on both sides.
Select the binding orientation by clicking the appropriate icon.
Change any other settings, and then click Print.

Canon Pixma 4200 does not print double-sided with Mac

First, I'd strongly suggest you update your drivers.. there are newer drivers that came out in Nov 07, Dec 07, Jan 08 and even Feb 08. Here's the link to Mac OS drivers for your specific printer...

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=257&modelid=11641#DownloadDetailAct

Please download and install all of the applicable drivers/software, because I have found that features such as color management come from the Easy Photo software, not the driver stuff.

The second link here is the directions on how to set up the duplex printing in Mac OS systems. It's a step-by-step and seems pretty comprehensive.

Good Luck!
Let us know how it works out for you!
