Can you tell me if the Convergence IC fix is an expensive one? You say it is detailed: can you tell me approximately how much it will cost.

One of the posts said there is a convergence that you do with a remote. Where would I find that to try that?

Thank you! I tried to do the convergence and they will not adjust. It seems that it is worse around the bottom and the edges but none the less it is bad. Is this generally an expensive fix? I will call for repair tomorrow is there a good place to look for a technician? THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!

With the original remote go into the customer menu and look for convergence---there is a multi-point adjustment in the customer menu--if some color will not adjust in all directions--one of the two STK-292-040 chips this set uses is bad. if you have questions let me know--Someone called me today here with this same model and problem----???

Well, at this time using the remote to adjust is not doing any good anymore. should replace the IC and it's not that expensive. go to Partstore.com and they should have a convergence board for about $76 or you could buy the parts and put it together by soldering.

I asume you're talking about convergence IC's? The IC's themselves are about $50.00 total
convergence output IC problem. convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!

My samsung rear projection tv has a problem with its convergence ic. i think theres two ics , but how do i tell which ic need replacing??

Always replace both once your going to the trouble each IC is usually less than $30.

Need convergence tubes price and where to order

Hi, set doesn`t have "convergence tubes", it has 3 picture tubes and it has 2 convergence IC`s post the symptom you see on the screen or tell us where you got the term "convergence tubes". If it needs all 3 tubes the set is not cost effective to repair as they are veeery expensive to buy and you WILL need an experienced tech to install them and then align them, convergence repair here in central florida runs about 275.00, price for your area may differ greatly, send us more info if this doesn`t help, video-tek

Red and green double vision

This is a convergence problem that is either poor solder connections on the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder and are comfortable working inside the set where there are ptentially dangerous high voltages present even when unplugged, you can fix this yourself.

Please let me know if you wish to attempt the repair and I'll supply additional details and instructions.

Toshiba 42H83 Touch Focus Problem

I just got finished repairing the same model . The convergence modules are bad cost of repair is 250.00 for a service center to fix. My advice would be call your local service center tell them what i told you bad convergence ic and ask them how much they charge,
