GE Double oven flashing F2

I have a problem with my double oven flashing F2. I turn it on and set temp and just before it gets to that temp the F2 starts flashing. When I opened the over the broiler element was on instead. We have checked the bottom element and it is fine. What could be the problem?

GE oven error code f2 is displayed

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F2 in your oven means oven temperature sensor circuit failure. To resolve this issue you’ll have to check the oven temp. sensor circuit if the reading is more then 1100ohms then it should be replaced however, if the rating is fine then it is the Electronic Range Control (ERC) that has gone bad & should be replaced. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

My oven gets a F2 code

F2 means usually, that the board detected that it's too hot.
You either need a new control board or a temp. sensor.

I have a GE model JKP13 and it keeps going off, beeping and flashing f2 or f3

HI, the oven has experienced a very high temp due to a failed sensor. Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace the oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

Next. Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Look for welded relay contacts as well on the control and sensor. replace, both the control and temp sensor if weld spots are visible.

F2 Oven overheats

jaz3133, it's probably the temp sensor that has gone bad. You should be able to get it from the front. It's the probe that comes out from the back wall of the oven. You can have someone ohm it out. Should read approx 1100 ohms at room temp. Part number for the temp sensor is WB20K5040. Make sure power is off befor removing the sensor. Catriver..post back.
