XP compatible drivers for my laptop

Hi

My laptop originally came bundled with Vista Basic. I am planning to "down-grade" this to XP, since I am not too happy with the speed of vista, even with 1.5 gigs of RAM in it!!!
I could not find appropriate XP drivers for the hardware anywhere in the internet... and i found forums where they say that the drivers CD that come along with laptop have only vista drivers in it... and i am afraid to format the drive and end up with no way out...
please help me in finding the place where i can download the XP compatible drivers for this specific model of Toshiba.

I have toshiba satelite A135-S2266 labtop and when the hard disk formated and installed win xp service pac2 some hardwares failed.So please give me sound driver and others if you can.

Hello,

As for your problem Toshiba is not did not bother creating a Windows XP compatible drivers for the Model L500-018 as it is their high end Notebook for the year 2007 and discontinued it on 2009. what you can is to upgrade from Windows Vista Home to Vista Premium for more functionality and XP compatibility or upgrade to much better Windows 7 as the Vista drivers are accepted by windows 7 OS.

VIA AC97 Audio Chipset not found on my system

Goto realtek site(makers of ac97) and download the hi-definition driver ( version 1,6,0,4)Thgis will work with vista or xp as I have down graded to xp for stability reasons on mine. ( also if you need the video driver visit ati.com and download the radeon x bundle)

If you are using VGNFE880E/H, the computer can only run in Microsoft® Windows Vista® Home Premium a and there is no compatible drivers for xp for this computer. That is the reason why the camera is not working. The link below shows the available drivers for you computer

Hi you never said what your model was, as there are many, but none that are c700 versions, also you didn't state your operating system, si in the hope that its Windows XP this link should help

Are you downgrading from Vista to XP? Chances are, if you have Vista and want to roll back to XP, you should be able to find the necessary drivers. You can go to Microsoft's website to check compatibility with your drivers.

SOUND DRIVERS FOR COMPAQ PRESARIO C790EI ON WINDOWS XP

It is not always advisable to downgrade from Vista to XP, especially on a laptop. The reason being that most of the installed components on the laptop, are specifically chosen for their compatibility with Vista.
However, you can try the following driver, which is more or less a universal basic driver that should work with your machine.
http://www.soft82.com/download/Windows/Vinyl_AC97_Codec_Combo_Driver

Should that not work, you will have to find the make and model of your sound card and do a Google search for the drivers..
