Hi

The warranty covers manufacturing defects and such, camera stops working completely etc, cracked screen is not one of those things.

You must have dropped your purse or something must have pressed on the screen and caused it to crack.

I think they will charge you for a new screen.

hi there,

first i would ask this, did you remove the battery while it was on your purse??

Cracked Camera

This depends on your warranty, if it covers cracks and the product being dropped I'm sure they will give you a new one to replace it, or find parts to repair it.

A cracked or ripped screen?

You have to contact Nikon to know where their service center is. They can replace the screen for you. I have no idea for the cost for the model of camera you have.

From what I have seen, for the average digital camera the part alone would be about $70 US to $90 US. There would be about 1 hour of labour.
