Game freezes when 'ps' button is pressed

If your PS3 lags or freezes when loading content from the hard drive, the drive either lacks free space or is faulty. To create more space, try removing items from your hard drive or getting a new hard drive with a higher storage capacity. A faulty hard drive must be replaced.

it sounds like your internet connection is lagging very badly if it freezes on hitting the home button if you can try to move your ps3 closer to your network wireless router.

I wish it was just the lens. However you as many of us, will need to replace the HDD (Hard Disc Drive) of the machine. And yes Sony will do that for the $.

Try going in to the playstation diagnostic menu. This is accessible as follows:

Make sure you have the controller charger cable plugged in and your controller plugged in before you start. While the PS3 is off press and hold the power button, the PS3 will start, beep 3 times and then turn off again. Once it's switched off take your finger off the power button for a second or two then put it back on, listening out for two beeps, then remove it. On the screen it will ask you to plug your controller in and press the PS button, do so and you'll be presented with 6 options.

The first one you want to try is restore file system, this will check your PS3 for any errors on the hard drive, and correct them if they can. This may take a little while but let it run through and see if it works.

If not then move on to the next option, but BACK UP YOUR DATA BEFORE DOING SO, the next step will wipe your PS3 clean! Repeat the process above until you get to the menu and then select "Rebuild database".

Try reseting the whole system. Hold the button for 10 to 15 sec. Then try, I had this same problem w/COD WAW. It fixed the problem, but wont fix the crapy server problem COD offers. Good luck

Well here you to go the answer to your problem is.....................................1. Sign out of your playstation account.2. Load game (the game will load fine without being logged in.3. Stop at the start menu do not press start when it is blinking "Press Start to Continue"4. Tap the Ps home button and log on to your account.5. After logging on hit the ps button to return to the game and hit will play fine.
