Bosch WAS24460UC Front Load Washer Logo
Anonymous Posted on Sep 10, 2009

I have a WAS24460UC Bosch washer. It won't drain. The pump runs, sounds like it has an air pocket or like the pump is running backwards? I have had a F34 and an F18 erro code.

Check the drain line for kinks or obstructions. You can take a flashlight, remove the hoses from the pump and look into the suction port of the pump. Check for anything clogging the pump. (like the occasional stray sock). Also check the pump impellers for broken or missing blades and ensure that the pump impeller spins freely. If any blades are broken/missing or if you cannot get the impeller to spin freely, the pump is defective and will need replaced. Hopefully it is just a clogged pump or drain line. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Pump cap won't open?

Sounds like there is a large clog in the pump filter causing it do jam. You may have to work at it to remove it, or you may have to disassemble the washer and extract the clog manually by opening up the drain lines and pulling it back from the filter.

My washer will not spin, it sounds like it's trying to spin but it won't spin and if i turn the barrell by hand it spins so it's not frozen or anything. Any suggestions?

Hi mwilczewsk,

I believe your drain pump filter is just clogged. The drain pump is trying to pump the water out before the Spin cycle, but can't. Usually this is caused by a foreign object that is obstructing the impeller. See my tip on how to access, drain & clean the Drain Pump Filter:

ACCESS, DRAIN & CLEAN THE DRAIN PUMP FILTER

After this, the Spin cycle will run, after the drainage procedure. If it does not, then you may need to replace the Drain Motor. Which is a easy task.

Kind Regards :-)

Brand new, just installed Bosch WAS34460 washer stinks like rubber when filling with water and running (sort of like the rubber hoses in an old car engine). But the smell also emanates from the back and...

Are you using HE detergent? Are you using the correct amount specified? You have a year warranty friend. Call Bosch directly. They do care about their customers. Do not go through Lxxxs or who you purchased the unit from. Other than some minor issues, Bosch wants to take care of their customers. One other thing. My biggest issue with installers is, they don't know how to install. They have their CDLS, and that is all. No training. Did they remove shipping bolts? Tub rubbing on front door seal could be burnt rubber smell. Bosch people on the whole, are good people. Good luck. Numbers are in your Manual. Check installation manual also. Good luck.

If you removed and cleaned the filter, then it is likely to be something stuck in the pump, or the pump itself is faulty.
Best way to access the pump is to tilt the washer backwards,, and get to it from underneath at the front..
Hope this helps.

The best wat to remove the pump, is to disconnect the washer completely from the water supply, remove the drain hose from the stand pipe, unplug the washer, and tilt the washer backwards.
remove the lower plastic panel if there is one, and access the pump from underneath at the front.
Hope this helps.
