Blue lights on screen are similar to that on computers ** major problem **

You could try a factory reset

Hold down highest white key whilst turning on
If you still have a blue screen it will need to be seen by a service centre.

Good luck

My Yamaha psr 2000 when switched on only the blue backlight is getting displayed on the screen and none of the function keys are getting lit up

If your Yamaha PSR-2000 keyboard is turning on and the blue backlight is displayed on the screen, but none of the function keys are lit up and not responding, there may be a few different causes.
  1. Check if the power supply is working properly and is providing enough power to the keyboard. If the power supply is faulty, it may not be providing enough power to the keyboard.
  2. Make sure that the keyboard's internal battery is charged. If the battery is low, the keyboard may not function properly.
  3. Check if the internal fuse of the keyboard is not blown, which is a common problem on electronic devices.
  4. If none of the above steps work, the problem may be with the control board or the display, and the machine may need to be serviced by a professional technician.
I would recommend checking the user manual or contacting the Yamaha technical support for further assistance, as they may have specific troubleshooting steps or solutions for your model.

I turned my Yamaha clavinova CVP 96 on today and instead of the white screen I have a lot of blue vertical lines and no sound coming

Hi

the blue screen with lines is normally as a result of the ribbon cable which has contacts on failing.

The remedy is normally to replace the simple the screen assembly the parts for this are around £300 but there would be significant labour to add to this.

i would suggest talking to a local Yamaha technician

Yamaha psr4000 no sound when i play keys

To start with try a master reset, whilst the instrument is off press and hold the top (highest) sounding key whilst turning on.
When the screen displays Yamaha release the top key.
If this doesn't solve the issue then it could be a number of things as the keyboard does a self check on startup and will hang if a fault is found. Check each rubber switch is not stuck down or even missing this can cause this issue. Please report back either way.

Yamaha NP-v80 does not turn on - any way to fix that?

Have you measured the voltage and confirmed the polarity is correct? If yes to both of these then the problem is in the keyboard.

Can you get it to flicker / on off if you insert the adaptor plug and wiggle from side to side ( wiggle the plug - not you wiggle side to side ! )

If this makes an intermittent connection then you need to replace / refit the power socket. These have a habit of breaking the solder joint to the pcb.

Report back if this is not clear or you need further advice.

Blue LCD screen

I had the exact problem, mine was a YPG 535 brand new in box I put everything together with stand and FC4 pedal. When i got ready to play just a blue screen and none of the red lights came on and no sound, I notice when i was messing with the on and standby button hopeing it would work the speakers would make a popping noise I personly thought it was a manufacturing defect.....i'm sending it back to have it replace. I never had problems with yamaha products but seems like more and more defects are happing with newer portable grand series!

While the blue display is working alright, my yamaha i425 suddenly stopped working. Cannot play the keys anymore..The power adaptor is working fine

Either your key scanning section or the power amplifier has fried.
Try playing the demo song, if the sound can be heard then the scanning section is faulty. You may download the servicemanual from Elektrotanya com and repair the keyboard.
