Try reducing the refresh rate of the monitor to 60Hz as you would get 1440X900 only at that refresh rate.

I'd suggest to reinstall / upgrade your drivers from your CD that you received with your monitor. There doesn't seem to be any drivers online.

Hope this helps.

I have installed viewsonic va1716w monitor using windows xp. I am unable to set its resolution to 1440X900. from display properties it going from 1024X768 to 1280X1024

It is possible that the video driver cannot support 1440X900 resolution.
Try installing the latest video driver and then try the higher screen resolution.

I have SAMSUNG LCD 943 MWX monitor which is 19"

This is not a monitor problem. This is a mother board problem, some mother boards are supporting this resolution. For this problem, you have to replace the mother board or put the graphics card on the same mother board.your problem will solve.

Which is the best screen resolution for lg flatron l177wsb with a windows 7

According to LG's webpage on that particular L177 series of monitors, its maximum resolution is 1440x900. Hence, you can have max resolution of 1440x900, which is off course the best available with this LCD.

Windows XP Not displaying fully on 1440x900 resolution.

If you have one of those older CRT monitors you should be able to resize the image. Some LCDs have screen shifting tools too. Try doing a full restart, too. (shutting your computer down, waiting 1 or 2 minutes, then starting it up again.)

Monitor resolution

Hello,

What do you mean that you were unable to get the native resolution of 1440x900? Are you saying that the resolution varries?

Since you mentioned that the mother board supports 1440x900, try to set the monitor resolution to that same resolution and then restart the computer.

If you will get the same problem, you have to make sure that the video card supports 1440x900 resolution.

Hannspree 19" Widescreen resolution available

I have the same problem. i downloaded a generic driver that allows 1600 X 900 resolution. this is better..things are taller rather than wider (with the 1280X1024 resolution). i dont understand why there isnt a 1440X900 driver available for XP systems.

VIA Chrome9 HC IGP vs Samsung 940BW Plus (1440x900)

Assuming you're using the latest drivers from here , the next step would be to ask MSI for a bios upgrade that supports the higher resolution.
