My license plate lights are out...what kind of bulbs do i need??

OK>>> it is very cold here, but nonetheless..I went outside to check on my Oldsmobile for your benefit....On mine (I can't guarantee it is the same for all of the vehicles listed above). If you are looking at the license plate, LOOK UP and you should see the bulb and whatever encasing is there. Mine is in a tube and it is attached with (2) mini bolts that will need to come out first, then it just looks like a simple matter of disconnecting the electrical plug, taking out the old bulb and putting the new one in. I hope this helps someone....

Its a 5 Watt light bulb. Just pull it out and take it to the store with you. Just remove the license plate to get to it.

LICENSE PLATE LAMP BULB
REMOVAL

1. Remove screws attaching license plate lamp to rear bumper
2. Remove lamp from bumper.
3. Remove bulb socket from lamp.
4. Pull bulb from socket.

1. Install bulb into socket.
2. Install bulb socket into lamp.
3. Place lamp in position.
4. Install screws attaching license plate lamp to rear bumper.

First off, you have to remove the truck lid liner to a point where you can access the light plug from inside (The light cover will not come out without taking the socket and bulb out first). Twist the light plug and pull out. Then on the exterior of the light, take a small regular screwdriver and slide it in the slots on each side of the light cover assembly and push towards the center of the light. This will release the plastic clips and allow you to pull down on the light cover. Do this to each side, then pull down and out towards you to get the light cover off. Install in reverse.
