Have you tried turning off Wireless Zero Configuration

Go to Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Services

Scroll down to Wireless Zero Configuration, right clicking properties, and Stopping the service in Service Status.

Do this on all the Pcs,

If this solves the problem, turn off Wireless Zero Configuration permanently by changing Startup type to Disabled

Hi,

You can fix the Internet connectivity issues of your router in your wireless network; first, you can check the type of issue faced.
Check for your router and the associated hardware. If you have issues with your power supply, you need to ensure proper supply of power. Check your Ethernet connectivity cables; if you have any issues with them, you could replace the cables. If you have issues with your Internet Service Provider, you can contact them and get the problem fixed.

Does it harm my Belkin wireless router if I keep the plastic cover on? it's to keep away the dust...

If the Belkin does not product much heat then it is OK to keep it covered, if it gets too warm then NO or use a thin cloth cover.

Keep losing signal to wireless, have to disconnect power to router then power back up and its fixed

I think you may need to change the wireless channel number or you need to update the firmware of your belkin wireless router. In order to change the wireless channel number you need to access belkin default page. you can refer this Change Belkin Wireless Channel number and SSID

Modem router light blinking (no wireless connection) F5D8631-4

Try restoring the Belkin back to the factory default by powering up the Belkin and pressing the RESET button on the back of the Belkin for 7 secs. Then connect a LAN cable from the computer to the Belkin, open IE browser and type the configuration IP address and configure the wireless settings ie. SSID, encryption etc. The computer wireless cards will need to be configured with the Belkin wireless settings to allow them to communicate with the Belkin.

No, you're not safe.
Disconnect your router from your cable-modem (or DSL-modem).
Reset your router to "factory settings", which _are_ safe.

MY ROUTER KEEPS LOSING CONNECTION

Hello fieldon68, & to all the rest with the same problem.

There are many things that could be wrong, but intermittant discounnects sounds very much like a interverance from another wireless device. (ie phone, cell, etc)

To try to address this issue, follow the steps below:
Note : The steps below are applicable only for Belkin routers.
  1. Open an Internet Explorer window on your computer and type in http://192.168.2.1 in the address bar. This will take you to the Belkin router's web based configuration page. If you are not able to open the page click here.
  2. You will get a login page. Leave the password blank. Click Submit ( unless you created a password, then enter that).
  3. On the left side of the page, click Channel and SSID below Wireless .
  4. The wireless channel on the Belkin router is set to Auto by defualt. Change the wireless to a static channel. Click Apply Changes .
  5. Click Logout in the top right hand corner.
Note: The wireless card in the computer will automatically detect the change in channel number on the router and will update the channel on the card.
CauseYou get disconnected wirelessly mainly due to an environmental interference. When the wireless channel is set to auto, the router will cycle to though channels when it detects significant interference. When the router changes channel the wireless connection will reset itself and disconnect all wireless clients connected to the router. Wireless signals are prone to interference from cordless phones and electrical appliances (e.g., vacuum cleaners, microwave ovens). This is one of the more popular reasons Belkin wireless connections can drop. Good Luck Mark P.S. Please leave a rating.

Belkin Router keeps frezing.

Try changing the channel of the router to 1,9 or 11, and make sure that there is no cordless phone near the router or the wireless computer, this will help mionimize wireless interference. If this may not work you may want to adjust some settings on the advance wireless settings of the router like the beacon(set it to 50) and RTS/fragmentation(2304).

Belkin wireless router

Hi,

Your Belkin router is normally configured to get a dynamic IP Add from your Internet provider unless otherwise configured. Most ISP's network where clients/subscribers connect (through DSL) has a DHCP server that hands out this IP adds. If your router keeps on changing its WAN IP add, it may presumably be because:
1. Your router keeps on rebooting or powering on/off and everytime it turns on, it is given a new IP add;
2. Your ISP's DHCP server keeps on renewing its lease on the IP add given to your router.

Corrective measures would entail:
a. Do a full hard reset of your router and go through the installation setup again. Of course this would revert all settings/configuration to factory default; and/or
b. Contact your ISP and explain your concern.

In some cases, the router's MAC address has an issue that the ISP's DHCP is keeping a hard time recognizing it. this can be corrected with a firmware update.

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things tunrs up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kin regards.
