Probably have a bad mouse button on your palmrest. Try using an external mouse... does it right-click? If it works fine then you have a bad mouse button and will probably need a new palmrest to fix it.

If it still fails to right click with another mouse, then it is just a software setting in your PC, check your settings in control panel in the mouse options.

Good Luck.

I like to work with graphics

1. Run a full anti-virus scan. If possible, tell it to run the scan while the computer is booting up. Afterwards, try opening the program again. If it fails, try Step 2.
2. Go to Control Panel/Programs and features. Locate the list of installed programs and scroll down to Adobe. Click on Adobe and there should be an option to Repair or Uninstall. Choose Repair, if available. Otherwise, uninstall then re-install the software. (Sometimes, Windows Update is known to "break" an installed program; sad, but true).

Right click doesn't work

Right click opens a context menu. That can be stopped by Group Policies from a work computer or any business computer. I cant remember how to resolve the issue, but look up explorer context menu registry keys and a solution should be out there. Explore is basically windows!

Thanks

When i right click on any folder the particular window freezes saying not responding for atleast 5 min but i can access all other application or icons from desk top. im using win xp sp3

This issue is usually due to a bad context menu handler. When you right click on an object the context menu is called and any installed handler objects are called also. If one of the these additional objects are broken or missing, it slows the whole process to a crawl.

There is a utility that will allow you to see what context menu handlers are installed and it will also allow you to disable the individual context menu handler components.

As there are potentially numerous items, there can be a lot of choices. In my professional experience, if you have an older version of Office installed (Office 2000, Office XP, or Office 2003) sometimes the Microsoft Picture Manager can break the context menu.

Also look for any context objects that reference a tool but display "File Not Found" under the "Filename" column of the utility, as the operating system is trying to load something that is not there to load.

The utility is called ShellExView, it is created by NirSoft and can be found here at http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html

HOW,DO I RESTORE MY TOOLS VIEW FILE HELP BUTTONS

You don't write in which application did your menu bar disappear.
Perhaps you entered "full screen mode", which removes menus and stuff to maximize the viewing area. Depending on application, try F11 key on the keyboard or F9.
If this is not the case, then perhaps you have accidentally dragged the menu bar somewhere - in new applications the standard "File/Edit/View...." menu is movable.
In Internet Explorer you might have turned the menu off by accident. Right-click the menu area, and you will see a context menu, showing a list of bars/strips that are enabled (with a checkmark) or disabled (without). If you see something else, choose a slightly different spot to right-click. If the option "Menu bar" is not checked, just click it and the menu should appear.

The left mouse button on my Studio 1535 no longer works. The right one is fine. Can I fix it or do I need to replace the whole assembly?

Hello,

Try to configure it as a mouse for left handed persons and see if it responds to your clicks.

In any case you should go to Control Panel, Mouse Properties. By pressing a button, the picture on the screen should show you if it is activated. If it does not then there nay be some hardware problem.

If you do not need the Context menus (right click) try setting the right button as the one to perform the usual click.

But nothing beats a new fancy mouse.

Hope this gives you so solutions.

Context menu continually pops up - mostly when left mouse button is clicked sometimes when keyboard is used. Context menu key doesn't work.

I think the mouse setting is set to left handed and the right clicker is the main clicker and the left is the context menu key. Knowing this, you should follow these steps.
1. Go to "Control Panel"
2. Click "Printers and Other Hardware"
3. Click "Mouse"
4. Go to the "Buttons" tab and switch the setting to right handed

Desktop Right Click Problem

This is generally an error from the registry, namely the context menu handlers (which is a shell extension handler that adds commands to context menus) If you can isolate when it started to occur and then maybe you can link it to a program you installed.

Are you having any having any other problems with your system emptying the bin, media apps??

I can suggest a progam that you can download that will allow you to see what extensions are in use and hopefully from this you will see if there are any left over commands from bad unistalls
