I am having trouble adding new material to my ipod shuffle I bought this last year and it is one of the matchbox sized ones I'm not sure what you call these. I tried to add some music to this on my home...

When you initially set up your ipod on one computer and then plug it into a different one, it will ask you if you wish to sync the songs with the new computer.

THIS WILL WIPE OFF ALL OF YOUR SONGS!

If you wish to manually drop and drag songs, you can do this as well and it will ask you if you want to use your ipod like a disk (like a flash drive.)

My suggestion is to import all of your songs you want on your home computer. You can drag songs from your "Library" to your ipod, simply select and drag them to the ipod icon.

If you want to charge your ipod at work just plug it in, don't click anything and then eject it. Or click import songs manually.

How do you download ipod songs?

download limewire then add all your songs there. Then go to options and transfer options. After browse your files and select a file. Then go to itunes and click file in the left hand corner and click add file to library. There should be files and click the one you added your limewire song to. then drag the library to your ipod icon.

How to charge and download to apple shuffle ipod?

You can charge it with usb cord. Make sure the latest drivers are downloaded for pc to recognize the ipod. Then you can also sync ipod with media player 11 under the sync option.
You can also go to my computer and see your device. Double-click to open the drive. With this window left open, you can then go to music folder and drag and drop the songs from media player to the ipod drive/folder.

Downloaded songs from limewire to ipod but i cant find the songs on any playlists, albums, etc. The songs are MP3 format.

You need to drag the downloaded files INTO iTunes to get iTunes to catalog the files. Once they are in iTunes you can sync to your iPod.

Ipod shuffle (2nd gen) completely dead

you are still under warranty...take it to the sony apple store...they will fix it /replace it or tell you there is cost if it not the battery (note do not tell them you charged overnight, and for the future do chage any gadgets more than 3-4 hrs) when you do charge over night you are actually shorten the battery life span or overcharge....so as soon as you come home from school, work, whatever cell/ipod or any other device needs to be charge...charge it now and unplug before you go to bed....

My Ipod shuffle does not work, when I switch on the ipod, I see orange light on and off..it does not show green. I charged the battery for more than 4 hours. Can anyone help ne why is this happening and...

I am not sure about the 1st generation but the 2nd generation definitely charges via the USB connection. If you don't hear the music its because there are no songs on your device. When you initially add songs, they go to the Library in iTunes, not the Shuffle. Just drag and drop your songs from the "Library" to your "Device" in iTunes and then you'll notice them get sync'd with the Shuffle.

Downloading music

Oh.. If I know that mp3 player, it's a USB2 type (Where you plug it directly into your computers open USB slot).

I could list alot of sites where you can buy songs, but if you have some on your computer, It's just a drag-and-drop situation.

Running Windows XP? Drivers should automatically enable it to run from your system. Try doing the following.

Open "My Computer" after plugging the player in. If you see it, you can just grab a song from your collection and drop it straight into the player.

Also Media player might be able to sync your music, but I prefer this method... Less of a hassle.
