I have taken a visual recording with sound. How do I put this onto the computer? I have a Gr-d60 jvc camcorder and I can get the still images from my memory card onto the pc and I cannot get the video recording onto it.
Dg9dotorg is correct about the memory card. The memory card and USB cable can be used to transfer still images only. To transfer the video you need a DV cable (also called a Firewire cable).
If your PC is relatively new it most likely has a firewire port. If it does not then you'll need to purchase a firewire card.
You will also need software to capture the video. I use Scenalyzer. You can download a demo version of this software at no charge. The link is http://www.scenalyzer.com/
The demo version is fully functional, but it will put a watermark on your video.
Good luck.
Unless the video is stored on the memory card you cant transfer it directly, you need a video capture device, it is an attachment to your Computer that manages the transfer of taped video copies to digital...

I have a JVC GRD-60 camcorder I have successfully used the video facility and can play back the tape on the camcorder fine. My problem now is to transfer the tape to the PC so I can edit and store on the PC and then transfer edited copy to disc if needed. I plugged the usb lead into the computer and camcorder. Nothing happens and the image mixer fails to connect. I then attempted to use the other lead. I plugged the av jack into the av hole and went to plug in the red, yellow and white jacks into the console!! Oh Dear no facility on console for this Ugh!!! Were do I go from hear!!!! Someone suggested Component video to USB convertor, but and £50 a lot of dosh to try? Anyone help please respond. Thanks Steve
