SOURCE: Minolta X370 film loading problem.

First make sure your batteries are OK , camera will not work without two 1.5 v batteries. If your camera still doesnt work this is probably  because the shutter is cocked but you cannot release the shutter and that is why you cannot advance the transport mechanism. The shutter release mechanism needs repairing first. SREMEDY : take bottom cover off ( 4 screws ) and locate 220 mf 6v capacitor ( it is the only one in this part of the camera , cant miss it ). Replace the capacitor while you keep an eye on the polarity ( indicated on the casing of the capacitor ) and you camera should work fine ( dont forget camera needs  two 1.5v  batteries to work ! )

SOURCE: My Minolta is used, and I can't seem to load film

Most likely cause:
The Minolta X-series was notorious for bad capacitors. There were two of them that went bad. One under the baseplate and another under the top cover. Yes, both require some camera disassembly, snipping, soldering and put all back correctly-after you find the parts that went flying when you opened it, LOL.
You can find the capacitors being sold on Ebay for a few bucks and do it yerself. Or you can send it off for repair.
I suggest Garry's camera repair in Niles, IL. They will fix it, Clean, Lubricate and adjust it all for around 50 bucks. I think its about 45 plus 8 for return ship. About 2 weeks later, your camera is back in your hands, ready to go.
This is a worthwhile investment in a very good little camera. I still have the X-570. I won't part with it, LOL.
I have newer AF cameras, but I love my X-570.

My Minolta Freedom Zoom 70C camera will not take pictures.

Try cleaning the contacts in the camera and clean the film canister. You can also try putting self adhive tape on the DX Area of the film cassette and set the film speed ASA manually.

What is the DX code on a film roll?
The DX code is the silver and black pattern on almost every film cartridge. Inside most electronic film cameras, there is a series of metal pins that read the code and tell your camera what your film speed is.

You are the only person to encounter this issue, so you may need professional repair.

Sounds like a broken gear or linking arm. It will cost as much to fix as to replace. You now have a very nice Minolta paperweight, lol.
Those neat little film cameras are now a thing of the Ebay, LOL. Since many are dumping them for digital, they're quite available at good prices now.

If the battery is low in my Minolta freedom zoom camera, will the film be pulled back into the roll?

No. If the camera pulled the film back into the roll with a low battery, you wouldn't be able to take any pictures, rendering the film, useless. Don't worry about it, and if it REALLY bugs you, keep fresh batteries in it.

The part inside that holds the film in place and moves film to the next picture is broken in my Minolta freedom 160 - can you fix this.

it depends if a part is just poped out or actually broken... but at the end it becomes easier to buy a new camera altogether
