Use the DVI port, and the VGA port on the ATI Radeon X300SE graphics card.

If you have two monitors that are LCD, and they both have a DVI connector, use a DVI to VGA adapter for the VGA port on the ATI Radeon X300SE.

[You need a Female DVI to Male VGA adapter, such as this example,

http://www.directron.com/dviadapter.html

Turn both monitors on. Right-click on an empty spot on the desktop screen. Left-click on Properties, then the Settings tab.
Left-click on the monitor icon with the 2 in it.
Go down to ->Extend my desktop to this monitor, and left-click in the box to the left of it.

Go down to the right, and left-click on Apply.
Now go over to the left, and left-click on OK.

You should now have your desktop screen on both monitors. When you open a window on your Primary monitor, (Monitor icon 1), Left-click on the frame, hold the mouse button down, and drag this screen to the Secondary monitor.

If it doesn't work this way, drag to the other side.

Resolved Issues for the Windows XP Operating System
This section provides information on resolved issues in this release of the ATI

Viewsonic vp912b lcd display will not work.no DVI

Yes you can but there should be an option in the monitor settings for DVI... Maybe if you go into safe mode and attempt adjusting settings for the ati for the dvi output, from what I hear that monitor is nice with the DVI option would be aa shame to lose that.

Yellow question on sm bus controller, pci device and video controller

For Emachines W3503, download the chipset drivers for ATI Radeon® Xpress 200 at http://e4allupgraders.info/dir1/motherboards/socket775/D101GGC_downloads.shtml which provides all drivers for this model of computer.

This resolves Sm Bus Controller driver problem.

Also a good tool can be driver detective for emachines http://www.drivershq.com/Drivers/eMachines/W-Series/W3503/22605/22758/37169/Drivers.aspx

If you are recieving "Error 22: A critical error has occurred while initializing DirectDraw." while trying to play Diablo 2, Warcraft III, or World of Warcraft, it is because direct draw has been disabled. I reenabled mine by installing the catalyst at http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html for Windows XP Media Center Edition - Radeon - Radeon X300 Series.. Then use the Catalyst Control Center to renable DirectDraw.

ATI Radeon IGP 340mM/345M display driver or software needed..

Go here:
ATI Catalyst 8.2 - ATI Radeon - XP

Then, near the bottom of the page, click on:
Individual driver download packages, ATI Multimedia Center, Avivo™, and Korean full package and download the Catalyst Control Centre package (download 2 of 3)

Here is a direct link, but i don't know if it will re-main active:
AMD GAME! Drivers and Utilities
Then click on "Catalyst Control Center (English)"

This package will only install the ATi CCC. I personally have found that the ATI CCC doesn't like older cards, but some people have had luck getting it to work. If it doesn't work, you'll either have to find an older Catalyst Control Center, such as the one bundled with the Catalyst 4.10, or go back to using an old version of ATi Catalyst Control Panel.

Drivers

Hi Brisas,
The Gigabyte video card uses ATI's chips (heart of the card). It shouldn't matter that you install a newer driver for the Radeon X300 series video card. It is backwards compatible.
In other words it still will run with Win98SE.
Latest X300 series video driver, click on the link.
http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=xp/radeonx-xp

If you realy think you need a driver for Win98SE than download a older version for the radeon card. The link below is very old & may still run you're X300 SE video card. Click on the link. (Take you're pick of old radeon drivers).

Good luck!

ATI Radeon 9550 (RV350) 3D Accelerator

Radeon 9550 series.: http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=xp/radeonx-xp
Download the Catalyst Software Suite Driver & CCC. You will find a ton of control within the Catalyst Control Center.
Remove any ATI software before installing the newer combo.
If you get a error during uninstall through the control panel run ATI's uninstaller at.:

How to install ATI Radeon x1050 card to two screens on windows 2003

ATI can get confusing. You might have installed ATI's CCC, "Catalyst Control Center", along with the display drivers. I suggest you download the latest combo-CCC and drivers for your video card. ATI comes out with new drivers pretty fast. When using dual monitors CCC is where you want to setup your monitors. After you set up the catalyst control center you'll find it much easyer to assign what monitor displays what. One other suggestion. ATI will want you to uninstall any other software for your ATI card even though all you have is ATI software.
