My tv out of the blue just shut off. I tried unplugging and plugging back in and then powering on and off the tv. I noticed a clicking coming out of the back, picture never was restored, just a clicking in the back of the tv. The first time it shut off I noticed a mild stench. ANy help would be appreciated!!

Go INTO the customer menu and select CONVERGENCE--what you are looking for is will blue or red not move in some direction?
If
you find in your case blue OR red is wacked and will not adjust let me know--I
can post here start to finish instructions for this repair on this
set.....
You only need to be able to know how to solder and get
at the chips--you can buy a pair of the chips on Ebay for less than 14
dollars plus shipping.
If you cannot do it yourself--let me know and I will give you options.

Hi,
All that mess in picture is due to failure of convergence output chips in this tv.
Replace convergence output ICs (two ICs) to solve picture problem. Required ICs are available in Part Store, click the link to have price info.

The tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead.The tv convergence board,require replacing 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors.Yes.U have a soldering iron,desoldering pump or desoldering braids,solders and u can do basic soldering?Yes.Tries websites like Tvrepairworld.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy a convergence kit to repair it ur self.The shop,will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.
