Goes through batteries very quickly....often reading "low battery".

Either the solenoid/starter is ad, or the battery is too weak to engage the starter. You can try a jump start to see if the battery is too low. A quick test is to turn on the dome light. If is goes out when you crank the starter, either the starter is drawing way too much current or the battery is too low to crank.

Buy a "multimeter":

Hook "+" to positive battery post, "-" to negative battery post.
Run vehicle, and read gauge.

If it's a 12 volt system, you should be reading at least 13-14 volts at idle.
It should climb a little if you rev the engine.

Hello Sonja, Try a firmware update for the CX7430 available at Kodak website listed under SUPPORT, be sure to get the firmware download for your model camera ONLY !!!!! If this does not help, some of these batteries that come from China are very low quality and have had them discharge sitting on the shelf !!!! Try Duracell or Other name brand battery, watch out for some sold on E-Bay as many are very low quality.

Hi, problem can be solved. When a phone battery indicates 99 % of battery life and runs down so quickly, it is caused by damaged battery.
When a battery cell is damaged, it will display charging full but itwill empty. You will need to replace the battery for a better battery performance.

When a new battery is been purchase, make sure it is charge it is charge up to 4 to 5 hours before use.

Check to see that it is in fact charging. If the power button light stays amber and never goes green, it could be battery, PDA or charger. If you do get a green, that pretty rules out charger/cradle. If the extended battery isn't an ORIGINAL Dell, and is more than a year old, it's likely the battery. 2 quick checks: 1) Try a standard life battery. If you get exaclty the same result, your Dell's got issues. Might only need a firmware re flash. But if your going to do it, I recomend going to the LennySH WM6.1, it's faster, more stable, cool battery indicator & other goodies. 2)See if the battery is bulging; if it is, it's time is near. There seems to be a real problem with the eBay'ish extended batteries. On the other hand, I've heard a few guys report ok battery life, and just a low *reading*. Dell batts seem to give the best life, the aftermarket just doesn't have it together. If you dare, Lenny's 6.1 can be found on Mobilitysite, read up on it lot's if you decide to go that way.

temperature affects batteries. if the batteries on the window sensors have been in use for some time it is probably time to change them. Alarm batteries are only expected to last 3 to 5 years with moderate use. If you have close neighbors or live in an apartment complex then false reads could be a factor.

try without memory card and if problem persists pls go to customer care...

Defective mechanism, a stucked mechanism is present. camcorder are smart it can detects error and shuts down itself for safety. earlier models dominoes the defect if the user is not quick enough to react when something goes wrong with the camera. You need professional service to fix it.
