Bose 3-2-1 Remote Control stopped working

My Bose 3-2-1 system is about 2 years old. The remote just stopped working. I replaced the batteries. Each time I press a button, the
red LED blinks twice. The LED doesn't respond to any other buttons, and none of the buttons will control any of the functions of the system.

Is there any universal remote I can purchase that is compatible with the Bose 3-2-1 system?

I purchased a LAZBOY universal remote (at Fred Meyers, on sale for $9.99) and after a bunch of research and trial-&-error, was able
program it with a code (1629) which works reasonably well with the
Bose 3-2-1.

I don't have all the system-level functions (which I never utilized anyway) but do have all the basics as far as power, volume, source, and CD/DVD control.

My bose 1-2-3 remote stop working. When replacing batteries it blinks twice but there is no response from the system

It's not uncommon for the contacts between the remote sensor board and the main board to go bad on these units. You will probable have to take it in to get it looked at.

"Dead" Remotes Can Be Saved
How to Re-Start Your "Dead" Remote Control
This only takes about a minute and will restart 1 in 3 "Dead" Original Remote Controls. Good Luck!
-----------------------------
Step 1- Pull the batteries out of the remote and leave them out until Step 4.
Step 2- Press and release each and every button one at a time on the remote control until every button has been pressed and released at least once!
Step 3- If your remote has slide switches, you must move the switch to each position then repeat the button pushing in Step 2.
(When you're done, be sure to put the slide switch in the correct position to operate the unit the remote came with!)
Step 4- Put the batteries back into the remote, being very careful to install them correctly.
New batteries should be used if you're not sure about the old ones.
Step 5- Try the remote.
Special Note:
If you have a digital camera, camcorder or camera phone you can test the remote to see if it is emitting a signal. Face the remote towards the lens of the digital unit until you can see the front of the remote. Depress any button on the remote. You should see a light (steady, blink or flashing) being emitted from the remote. If you do then the problem might not be the remote but the sensor on the unit.
If it works, Great!

A new remote is the simplest and best bet. I know of no way to repair a remote without making it irreparable. Though you might check the infrared LED i the front. Does the light on the remote illuminate when you press a button?(assuming it has that.)
