Dear Nealteresa:

Please click on the link below and download the drivers for Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 4000 and select IntelliPoint 6.2 (32bit) for Windows Vista.
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/DownloadResult.aspx?prod=m_wod4000&os=WVista_32&lang=en&driverVersion=IntelliPoint%206.2%20(32bit)%20for%20Windows%20Vista Or you can also customize by selecting product and operating system. http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/download.mspx Note: However the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop should work with the native drivers of operating system.
Regards,

Mohammed.

My Microsoft wireless mouse just stopped working on my HP 550 laptop. All lights are on--no obvious problem I can see. (Wireless notebook optical mouse)

Try downloading the driver in your computer again. The registry file can be corrupt from other downloads. It has happened to mine twice so far in two years The drivers can be found at this link below...Remember I do not know what model you have so a 3000 & a 4000 model link for each are showing for you below here

I have microsoft bluetooth optical mouse 4000 it suddenly stopped connecting to the receiver, as I cannot move mouse anymore

Just to clarify, this is a wireless optical mouse, right? Please try the steps below:

1. Use fresh batteries.
2. Make sure that the mouse is turned on.
3. Check if there's a connect button on the wireless receiver and underneath the mouse. If there is, try holding down the two connect buttons at the same time for five seconds and then release them both.
4. Try moving the mouse.
5. Make sure that there are no possible wireless interference between the wireless receiver and mouse like the base of a cordless phone, cell phone etc.

If same problem occur after doing the steps below, then you may want to contact the manufacturer for RMA. This Microsoft 4000 has a three year limited warranty.

Thank you!
