Bob, Handheld radios will talk line-of-sight up to 2 miles (3.2 km). Any obstacles you put between the radios will shorten the range. Talking from inside to outside you might expect only 1/4 to 1/2 mi. (.8 km to 1.0 km). For best range, hold the radio upright with the antenna perpendicular to the ground.

The buttons can do a variety of functions. It would be subject to how the dealer programmed the radios, so there is no way to tell you what exactly your buttons will do. Some options include Hi/Low Power, Scan, Monitor and Sticky Monitor. The Orange button on top is sometimes programmed as an emergency button when used by public safety (Police/Fire/etc).

The 1-15 would be the channel knob. The radio is capable of several channels. This also would be subject to the dealer who programmed the radio. The ABC switch can also be programmed for various functions. It would be best if you were wanting to know how the radio is programmed to visit your local dealer and have the radio read-out.

This radio when fully charged, should work like any other walkie-talkie, where you press the PTT button when you want to talk, and you release the button when you want to listen.

Best regards.

How do I change the Waste Ink collector on a Pixma MP170?

Cleaning or changing the pad is a messy project. This ink pad reset will reset the printer ink use conter to new status and your pad full message will be gone. This is a common occurance with Canon printers and the fix causes no harm. I reset my own MP470 about two years ago without incident.

This reset has been sucessful on many MP150 and simular units and should work on your MP170.
The second works on models with different control pads simular to theMP470.

printer powered off but connected on power source , you must:
1. Press & hold stop/reset button, and then press & hold [ON/OFF] button.
2. When Green power lit, leave stop/reset button & press twice stop/reset (see orange indicator).
3. Leave On/Off button. Printer in actually service mode.
4. Press stop/reset 4 times (see orange indicator) if not blink restart above process from top.
5. After press stop/reset 4 times successful press On/Off button 3 times. printer will off.
6. Press On/Off button.

---------------------

Waste ink full reset

These are the instructions which worked for me on my Canon pixma mp470:

1) Close the print head cover, and turn off the printer. While pressing the Resume/Cancel button, press the Power button. (Do not release the buttons. The LED lights in green to indicate that a function is selectable.)

2) While holding the Power button, release the Resume/Cancel button. (Do not release the Power button.)

3) While holding the Power button, press the Resume/Cancel button three times, and then release the Power and Resume/Cancel buttons. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in either orange or green, starting with orange.) During initialization, the LED blinks in green.

4) When the LED stops blinking and lights in green, press the Resume/Cancel button the 4 times. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in either orange or green, starting with orange.)

5) Press the Power button. The LED lights in green, and the
selected function is performed. (When the operation completes, the printer returns to the menu selection mode automatically.)

6) Power off then back on and test.

Error code 5100 check printer

This is probably a Canon printer and code. If so, it is the "ink waste pad is full" warning. There are work arounds to keep from having to clean the pad. Here are two methods to eliminate the message. The only other ways are to take it to a repair shop or dismantle the printer and clean the pad yourself. Not advised, This is messy.

This works on many different printers.

I need to fix the frequency to match my other motorola XTN series radio model #XV2600 to my new motorola RDM2070d radio

Here is a link to the CP100 user manual, it is the sister radio2.gif to the XTN, and programs the same way. http://www.thekidshuttle.com/ABC%20Docs/CP100_Manual.pdf
Refer to the bottom of page 20 to get started programming2.gif.

Basically you hold in the PTT and the MON button while turning the radio on. Continue to hold them in until it stops making noise. This puts you in programming mode, and you can use the menu button and the + and - to walk you through reprogramming the radio.

We do not know specifically how your RDM2070d radio is programmed. You would need to know this to program your XTN to match. However, a good educated guess would be to start with Blue dot and Green dot frequencies off of the frequency chart in the user manual listed above. An educated guess on the code setting would be "zero" or "off".

Your radio dealer who supplied the RDM2070d radios to your corporation should be able to tell you the exact frequency and code; or read-out the radio.

User manual for Motorola GP 900 2 way radio

No user manual available, GP900 is a European version of HT1000 here in the US. Basically, on the top of radio on/off volume control is on the left, next to it is a channel selector, 3 position ABC toggle switch and orange button for emergency. On a side are button 1,2,3 and PTT switch. Hope that will help.

I had a keyboard failure on start up

The error message indicates you posted (power button green, video on the screen... keyboard failure error message). But your comments indicate the power button is yellow/orange. That indicates a "no post".

If the power button is yellow, disconnect everything from the motherboard, but the connections for the power supply and control panel (power button). Turn it back on.

If you get a green power button, and the system beeping at you add the memory back in. All four slots MUST be filled!!! If it's still green, add the video card back in. If that works, keep adding things one at a time until it either works, or you know what's causing the problem.

If you get a yellow button, check your heatsink. You just replaced the motherboard. You might not have gotten it right the first time. If everything is tight, and all the power connections are tight and plugged in (if I remember right, there should be a 20 pin and a 4 pin connector), it might actually be a bad board. Try swapping the old board back in and see if you get a different response (if so, the new board is bad).
