Panasonic SDR-H40P Hard Disk Video Camera loses focus

My Panasonic SDR-H40P Hard Disk Video Camera loses focus on its own. I have it set on Auto Focus. I film youth football games and it is progressively getting worse. It now happens about 6 or 7 times during a game. Can you help?
Thank you.

    Thank you.
That does work but it has gotten to the point that it happens about 30 times a game. I sent it off to the Panasonic Service Center to be repaired. When I get it back, I'll post what part they replaced here.
    Thanks again.

The Panasonic Factory Service Center diagnosed the problem as being the fault of the zoom motor is is apparently part of the Lens Assembly.

    Part #: LSXN0053

No focus when zooming in

from the Manuel
? When the zoom speed is high, the subject may not be focused easily.
Also you Focus could be not set on auto which thinks the subject is either closer or father away from the camera.
Here is the Manuel for reference.

While recording the Camcorder goes in and out of focus. If I keep the camcorder running and either zoom or pan out the subject refocuses, but if i hold at that level of focus the subject becomes blurry...

It sounds like you are either too close to the subject or you need to flip the focus switch to automatic.
The Auto/Manual focus button is located on the left side of the camcorder under the LCD monitor flap.
Other than that, does this happen only in low light? The camera will have trouble focusing in low light usually.

My photo's are not sharp and clear. What am I doing wrong?

you could be doing nothing wrong, These cameras have auto focus and when there pas there prime, you need to get them fixed basically.

If the output is out of focus more then likely the auto focus is your issue.

Hope this does help, would be considerate if you do leave a rating or feedback before you go, Thanks

Can't transfer videos to dvd with my Panasonic SDR H40P

Apparently the software that Panasonic sent with my video camera is not compatible with Windows XP Service Pack 3. The solution is spending $79 on another software. Not happy about it, but grateful for your exper that helped me get this resolved. Thanks.

SYMBOLS AND WHAT DO THEY MEAN FOR USING CAMERA?

Point and shoot cameras automatically auto focus. The video symbol looks like an old hollywood movie camera with the film spools on top.
